Canal at Corinth

Corinth, one of the oldest and most important cities in the whole of Greece, owed its foundation, wealth and development to its favorable situation on the isthmus between the Peloponnesus and mainland Greece, this giving it harbors to the Ionian and Aegean Seas.  We crossed this very deep canal between the seas on our way to Nauplion via Corinth.  St. Paul spent quite some time here, where he preached, converted many to the new Christian faith, and then was thrown out by the Romans.
