The Acropolis is the site of the major temples of Athena, the patron goddess of Athens, the most well known, of course, being the Parthenon, begun in 447 BC and completed in 432 .  The Erechtheion is a lovely building originally dedicated to the devotion of several old divinities.  The temple is famous for its porch, which instead of pillars is supported by six female statues called Caryatids.  Our guide, Eleni, brought this incredible site alive for me.  Come see it with me...
