Note: The report below is a compilation of several 1967-68 WBLC (pronounced WIBLIC) incidents
In the waters off North Vietnam, a boat can be seen visually and on Radar breaking away from a group of fishing boats and heading south at a high rate of speed. This action classifies him as a "WBLC", or Water Borne Logistic Craft, used to transport military goods around blown-out bridges and other choke-points damaged/destroyed by the USS Newport News and other Navy Units. Thunder brings the big guns of Turret Two to bear and, with the assist of planes from our Navy Air group, blows the WIBLIC out of the water. Thunder's Shotgun, Gunpowder, quickly puts a boat in the water as sharks attack and kill one of the WIBLIC survivors. We rescue the others and take them aboard as POWs.
