Additional vintage silk appliqué continues around
the neckline in a pattern of winged leaves that
appear to fly from the rose heart. A tiny
sequined butterfly starburst sits demurely over the rose.

The
skirt circumference is a full ball gown and is festooned at the sides with a
pleated tissue silk that is further embellished with it's original
vintage silk rose and pearl beaded appliqué
in hues of pale pink and translucent green.

The
ethereal gown seems to float on a layer of fluid, transparent silk and cascades at
the back with a gorgeous ribbon tail known as a brush train, giving the
wearer a sense of graceful flow.

It is

This stunning silk
organza wedding gown was originally worn in 1949. Additional pearl
beaded appliqué and sequined butterflies have
been applied to the tissue silk skirt for embellishment. Embellishment of the outer tissue silk was accomplished with
14 sequined butterflies (7 on each side of the skirt) that scatter about
the skirt hem. Sunlight reflects
off of the sequined butterflies as tiny prism rainbows of light.
