Jersey Watteau Gown with Hand Dyed Velvet and Watercolor Bodice of Venetian Lace/per Lauren Lavonne

This gown has SOLD, sorry!

This beautiful Watteau back gown has an artist's palette of water colors applied to its front bodice and upper back.  The raised waist is fitted and extremely sexy, cupping the bust in stretch matte jersey fabric and then falling out in an expanse of skirt.  The skirt then falls away into a fullness of fabric that is neither clingy nor structured.

The entire skirt and train are edged with seven yards of hand dyed crushed velvet, woven in and out of Venetian daisy trim.  Bottom circumference of the hem measures a total of 225 inches or almost 19 feet!

The empire underbust slopes downward at the back, keeping the bodice of the gown snug while a split watteau train flows from the shoulder area.  With a keyhole style Queen Anne neckline and a sheer overnet at the shoulders that is covered with Venetian appliqué, the gown is very distinctive and fluid. The watteau train can be easily bustled into a romantic drape at the back waist.

A dramatic wash of color has been painstakingly dye painted on the Venetian appliqué of the bust, shoulders and back watteau.  Very unique cap sleeves cascade over the sides.  Colors are ivory, cornflower blue, pink, yellow and golden brown.  Twin epaulets of sequined and beaded leaves are sewn at the shoulders.  A center medallion of pink corded leaves feature silver glass beads and is sewn at center bust.

Sloping Empire Underbust with a 1 inch hand dyed cornflower blue Crushed velvet ribbon.  Crushed cornflower blue velvet ribbon and variegated Venice daisies trim the skirt edge of the gown for over six yards.

Above:  The gown bustles romantically with the help of three elastic bustle loops and a single blue dichroic glass button that is hidden behind the split watteau back.  Fabric is a matte jersey interlock with stretch.  The gown has a Grecian goddess appeal.
