Let's face it, we get a few complaints about viewing
color over the internet, but none compare with color expectations on
our wildly inventive garters.
Our dyeing process is in itself, a
magic potion. Cherry Bark, Coffee and
Rose Hips in a bubbling caldron, a newt's tail and tigertooth (wink
wink) creates varied, organic tints
to subtly change each garter's hue. No
two garters are alike. Color depends on alchemy. Think of
a changing sunset, and you'll understand.
Each garter is elasticized, to slip easily over the
foot, knee and up the thigh. Traditionally, garters are supposed
to be worn on the right leg at just above the knee. Many
Brides choose to wear two garters, one for keepsake and another for
tossing. The tossing garter is generally throwaway, unless the
reception allows for the caught garter to be placed on the single girl
who catches the bouquet.

Sizes are approximately "one size fits all"
to a 20 inch circumference when worn above the knee
All
satin garters are hand dyed and
contemporary unless otherwise stated.
(Some garters may have vintage pins)
We do suggest that all vintage pronged
pins are removed
before tossing the garter!
We start with a white bridal satin and wide
elastic, sew it together with a poly/blend lace for the garter
"blank." Then, each garter is custom dyed, sometimes double or
triple dyed to get the color effects. The delicate lace
becomes soft and fuzzy, with colorful, tiny thread hairs. The
satin becomes vibrant. All appliqué embellishment is generally
French vintage, (expensive) and once it's sold, we cannot
re-purchase the design lot again. We use silk in our velvets
and ribbon, each hand dyed. Victorian Stampings may also have Black,
Copper and Gold Buff applied to the metal. Some are heavily
shellacked. Each is different. Art Nouveau
stampings may have been hand
buffed with copper and gold rub. Each is piece is hand crafted and
takes hours to create.
When we say a garter is one of a
kind, it really is...
