For convenience an online membership application is provided. Membership applications are also available at the monthly meetings. In either case the completed form must be accompanied by a check for the proper amount if mailed or it can be brought to the monthly meeting with cash or check. New and prospective members should read the Sequence of Events below which was written by former treasurer Carter Thoenes to help orient new members.
If necessary, name badges and claim maps can be mailed to new members who cannot attend the monthly membership meetings. If you require these items to be mailed, the application has a space for this request but note that there is a mailing charge.
The dues amount covers the entire family. However each adult in the family is required to have a name badge in order to access the claims. Older children who frequent the claims should also have a name badge. Note that the dues amount is a yearly fee while the name badge(s) is a one time cost (unless a replacement is required). Both are required to access claims.
In addition to the package of claim maps that you receive as a new member, claim maps will also be issued for new claims as they are acquired. Laminated area maps that show our claims are available for sale by the claims director. These are not as detailed as the individual claim maps but give a nice overview of the claims with GPS points, marked roads and directions on the back.

Thank you for your application to join the Desert Gold Diggers, Inc.
Here is the sequence of events:
Your application will be presented for approval at the DGD monthly business meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of the month provided that the application is received before that date. If the application is received after the business meeting date, it will be processed the next month.
If the application is approved (usually automatic), your membership card will be mailed to you.
At the next members' meeting on the 1st Tuesday of the month, 7:00 PM at the VFW Post 10188, 345 E. Roger Road (on the North side of Roger Road between Stone Ave. & 1st Street):
Use the "Temporary ID Card" until you receive your "Annual ID Membership card."
If you have paid the additional mailing fee, the material will be mailed to you.
We have 3 nugget drawings for Hats, 3 nugget drawings for Name badges and 1 nugget drawing for wearing your DGD shirt each month. Hats and Shirts can be purchased at the DGD Club Store table; badges can be ordered/picked-up at the Membership table and tickets are available at the raffle table. To receive these tickets you must have your hat, shirt and/or name badge with you.
Change of address: If you are a winter visitor to Tucson or move, you must send a change of address to the Membership Director. Our monthly Desert Gold Digger Gazette is sent out via bulk mail and cannot be forwarded to a different address. It is just dumped and we both lose. Change of addresses should be sent to the Membership Director, Laurie Cook 3745 W. Fitzwater Ct; Tucson, AZ 85746-2501. We must now pay for address corrections - it will not be forwarded, but we will have to pay up to $1.00 to get your new address - if you have left one on file. You can also send your new address to me via e-mail at Laurie Cook.
