There was a good turnout for the outing with over a dozen members as well as wives and children. We all met at Fry's at First and Oracle around 7am. A bit later we all headed out for the new claim. After arriving at the claim boundary, everybody spread out along the wash to test different areas. Roger, Lonny and Ron worked one area and dug out a good sized hole with disappointing results for the amount of work. However several small holes were tested all along the wash, both above and below that area, with almost all having some gold. The majority of the samples were run through George Volker's recirculating high banker. George did a cleanup after each sample and Lonny panned most of the concentrates. In this way it was determined that gold was distributed all along the claim. It was very informative to see where different members selected their test holes. Surprisingly the only picker was found quite a ways down the wash by Jack and Gene. It started out a bit chilly but ended up a beautiful winter day.
