Clubs with gold claims in Arizona
This is an incomplete list of prospecting clubs and Organizations either based in
Arizona or that have claims in Arizona. If anyone has information about other clubs
with claims in Arizona, please send me the information. For a more extensive lists of

Clubs are listed alphabetically by city. For clubs that have web sites, only the
web address is listed for contact information. Be aware that some of these are not
true non profit clubs but commercial organizations. There is nothing wrong with
commercial enterprises as long as you know what you are joining.
Dates in parentheses are the most recent dates that the information has been
verified for clubs without web sites. Known broken links are currently highlighted
in green. Updated links have the revision date in

Arizona Clubs and Organizations

Members have access to over 1500 acres of gold mining claims and may keep the
gold that they find. Charter Member Affiliate to the
New 49er's Prospecting Club. Members can
use the New 49er's claims in Arizona, at no charge.

The club has over 50 members and is only active from October 1st through
April 30th. They have monthly field trips. Two of these trips, usually in
December and February, are week-end camp outs at Gold Basin, near the famous
King Tut Mine.

The Weaver Mining District is a non-profit club with yearly dues of $25 per
family. They have approximately 1700 acres of mining claims in the old
Weaver Mining District near Stanton, Arizona. The name is that of the
original mining district from the territorial days. The group was formed in
1993. No e-mail or web site at this time. Les has a display of gold from
the area and also items for sale, including meteorite books.

- Kingman
The Mohave Prospectors Association
again has an active web site (10/9/08).
The Mohave Prospectors has over 300 acres of gold bearing claims in the
northeast part of Arizona. They exchange claim access with
other clubs. This area has both gold and meteorites.

A non-profit gold seekers club in Lake Havasu City, Arizona with over 1400
acres of gold bearing claims.

Gold placer claims in Arizona and Nevada with over 3000 acres of claims in

fossil locations in both states.

The Gila Valley Treasure
Hunters Club is a family oriented Metal Detecting and Gold Prospecting
Club located in Safford Arizona. They meet the second Saturday of every month
at 8 a.m. at the Graham County Health Dept. Annex. Founded in October 2000.

We are a group of Gold Prospectors and Treasure Hunters located in
Sierra Vista, Arizona. Chapter of GPAA.

Arizona Association of Gold
Prospectors (AAGP)
Mining claims around the state and year-round daily access to a commercial
placer gold mining operation near Wickenburg. The
Phoenix
chapter of the AAGP
meets on the second Tuesday of every month. The meetings are from 7:00 to
9:00 p.m. and are held at the Denny's Restaurant located on the Northwest corner
of the intersection of I-17 and Dunlap Ave. For further information on local

Prospecting Club
Happy Camp, California
Has approximately 60 linear miles of gold properties near our Happy Camp facility
in northern California. Also has a headquarters location in Quartzite where they
own several quarter-section-sized areas near Quartzite, Arizona. Another
headquarters location in Apache Junction, Arizona, where there are additional
mining properties.
- Gold Searchers of Southern
Nevada (GSSN) Address change, 6/4/08
Las Vegas, Nevada
Gold Searchers of Southern Nevada is a Las Vegas club comprised of members
from all walks of life. "We have over 500 acres under claim for the members
to use for prospecting purposes." These claims are in Mohave County Arizona
but the club is always on the lookout for good claims southern Nevada.
National Clubs with claims in Arizona
- Gold Prospectors Association of
America (GPAA)
Today, it is the world’s largest gold prospecting organization. The GPAA has
over 250 properties and over 750,000 acres of mining claims available to its
members, in 37 US states and several Canadian provinces, including the Northwest
Territory. They have mining claims in several Arizona counties.
- Lost Dutchman's Mining
Association (LDMA)
Affiliated with the GPAA but have their own claims. The LDMA now has an ever
growing number of private properties and claims in several western states and
also in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. The LDMA owns the historic
ghost town of Stanton, Arizona. They own 125 acres in and around the town with
claims in the Rich Hill area.

- Detectors Unlimited
A metal detecting club in Tucson that holds monthly meetings with information
on metal detecting, types of detectors, using detectors, where to search and
what you might find. Topics may include metal detecting in parks, playgrounds,
old buildings, vacant lots and talks on military history, mining, railroading,
meteorites, map reading or cleaning of coins. Some of the outings include
detecting in gold areas.
