Desert Gold Diggers

Highway Cleanup and Nugget Shoot on 11 Nov 2006

On a beautiful Saturday morning this November 11, some 45 Desert Gold Digger members took time out from their busy schedule in order to make a difference. They donned bright orange vests, carrying black trash bags and trash pick up sticks, and proceeded along a two mile stretch of Highway 83 near Greaterville. We then collected six months of accumulated trash which has been strewn along the roadway. With this tremendous turn out, it did not take any time at all for the highway to be clean and beautiful once more. What a great job everyone! The group then proceeded up the road to the turn off towards the Empire Mountains on Forest Service Lands for the nugget shoot and pot luck. The nugget shoot was a blast, the food was great and the comrade the best. These clean up outings are real special happenings.
