On a warm Saturday morning the 14th day of May 2005, some 30 Desert Gold Digger members took time out from their busy schedule in order to make a difference. We donned bright orange vests, carried big blue trash bags and trash pick up sticks, and proceeded along a two mile stretch of Highway 83 near Greaterville in order to collect six months of accumulated trash which has been strewn along the roadway. In the early days of this project, it took several hours to find and get rid of the many years of accumulated trash. Now, it generally only takes an hour or so to complete the job. With our great membership turn-out, it did not take any time at all for the highway to be clean and beautiful once more. Good job everyone.
