Well, The fire was out, the road open, what a beautiful day it was for an outing!!! We had a great turnout, 36 members and 1 guest. There was an early morning spring crispness in the air, and everybody was a hankerin' to get started. I guess I didn't do such a great job of hiding the coins..., they were found in the first hour and a half! I stood on the hill and it looked like a bunch of ants looking for something, and by golly they found what they were looking for!!! Bob Melzer found 2, ditto for Terry Reppz. The other two were found by the lovely ladies Kim Bruggeman and Carla Eisley. Congratulations to you all!!!
Bootstrap kept track of who did & found what and where while I kept a lookout for Indians!!! I was taking pictures... No Indians, darn!!!
Loren Boss set up dry washing, and was doing really good!!! A few pickers sure put a smile on his face and everybody else who went to visit him. It made me want to go home and get my equipment and tear up that hill. New member, Ted Vasiliw, picked up the art of metal detecting real fast and found an old horse shoe. I hope it brings him good luck.
All in all, I think everyone had a great time. Turnout was not too bad, considering there are 530 in the club. Come on now, let's go out and work the 25 claim's we got. You never know when big brother will take our mining rights away!!! So, let's have some fun while we can. Who knows, we might even look and feel better! Here are the pictures of the winners. I hope I get a chance to take a picture of all of you. You are all winners in my book because you belong to the best club around these parts!
Till next time,
Lou & Bootstrap
