Emeralds in the Desert

A True Tale of Lost Treasure!

The following was sent to me by a club member and shows that lost treasures still exist and can be found.

You are looking at almost nine and a half pounds of South American Emeralds in the rough. This cache of beautiful gems was found in Southern Arizona by Mark in March 2007 while hunting for quartz crystals. They were buried under one to six inches of dirt and Mark is still mining the area. There were also about 30 low-grade aquamarine crystals that were scattered amongst the emeralds. The who, what, why and when are completely unknown and as you may have already guessed, we aren't telling the 'where'....at least not yet!! Two pennies found at the site date from 1957 and 1960.
