This paper discusses the Old Testament teachings on heaven, hell, and
spirits beings. All scriptures are
from the King James' version Bible.
INDUCTIVE COMMENTS:
THEME: HEAVEN AND
HELL EXIST: God is everywhere:
heaven, earth & hell.
Genesis 1:1 "In the
beginning God created the heaven and the earth." Just as earth exist, so does heaven.
Deuteronomy 32:22 "For a
fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell,
and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the
foundations of the mountains."
Psalms 139:7-8 "Whither
shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I
flee from thy presence? {8} If I ascend up into
heaven, thou <art> there: if I make my bed in hell,
behold, thou <art there>."
PURPOSE: HEAVEN & RESURRECTION: Dead shall exist in body in a
after-life.
Psalms 49:15 "But God
will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me.
Selah."
Psalms 86:13 "For great
<is> thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the
lowest hell."
Isaiah 26:19-21 "Thy
dead <men> shall live, <together with> my dead body
shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew <is
as> the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast
out the dead. {20} Come, my people, enter thou into thy
chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were
for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
{21} For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to
punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall
disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain."
KEY VERSE:

see corruption. {11} Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy
presence <is> fulness of joy; at thy
right hand <there are> pleasures for evermore."

WHY: SAINTS RETURN WITH GOD: Saints return
at a later time with God.

WAY: EXAMPLES FROM OLD TESTAMENT PEOPLE:
A) ENOCH: God did not punish Enoch
my taking him, but rewarded him.

"And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred
years, and begat sons and daughters:"
Genesis 5:24
"And Enoch walked with God: and he <was> not; for
God took him." His reward was not dying.

B) DAVID: David believed in a after-life.
2 Samuel 12:22-24
"And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted
and wept: for I said, Who can tell <whether> GOD will be gracious to me,
that the child may live? {23} But now he is dead, wherefore should I
fast? can I bring him back again? I
shall go to him, but he shall not return to me. {24} And David
comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her,
and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called
his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him."
C) ELIJAH: God did not punish Elijah
my taking him, but rewarded him.
2 Kings 2:1 "And it came to
pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind,
that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal."
2 Kings 2:11
"And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold,
<there appeared> a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted
them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven."

D) JOB: Job, the oldest book, a
after-life in the body with God exists.
Job 19:25-27 "For I know
<that> my redeemer liveth, and <that>
he shall stand at the latter <day> upon the earth: {26} And
<though> after my skin <worms> destroy this <body>, yet
in my flesh shall I see God: {27} Whom I shall see for myself, and mine
eyes shall behold, and not another; <though> my reins be
consumed within me."
WHEREAS: HEAVEN & RESURRECTION: Dead shall exist in body in a
after-life.
Psalms 49:15 "But God
will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me.
Selah."

as> the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast
out the dead. {20} Come, my people, enter thou into thy

for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
{21} For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to
punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall
disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain."
Isaiah 57:1 "The
righteous perisheth, and no man layeth <it> to heart: and merciful men
<are> taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken
away from the evil <to come>."Death may be good.

fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! <how> art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken
the nations! {13} For thou hast said in thine heart, I

will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
