THE PURPOSE OF JESUS COMING (EIGHT "W's")

This paper discusses the reasons for Jesus coming to the earth. All scriptures are from the King James' version Bible.

INDUCTIVE COMMENTS:

THEME: The reason Jesus came to earth is to save Christians.

John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, <even> to them that believe on his name:" God gives the power, purpose, hope and joy of life to his children.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God loves his children. He has made a way for his children to live with him forever in a relationship.

PURPOSE: Eternal life: relationship between Jesus & believer forever.

2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man <be> in Christ, <he is> a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." Everything is from a God's prospected and not ours.

1 John 5:11-12 "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. {12} He that hath the Son hath life; <and> he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." Eternal life is what God has & he want to share it (Jesus) with us.

John 17:3 "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." To know God in have a relationship with Jesus is to have eternal life.

KEY VERSE:

Romans 10:9-10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. {10} For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." After believing, telling others what you believe.

WHO: Anyone who is saved, has a personal relationship with God.

Matthew 18:11 "For the Son of man save that which was lost." All people are lost, until God comes into their lives.

John 3:36 "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." Only two purposes: Life with God or death.

John 10:16 "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, <and> one shepherd." Others God will saved.

Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." Jew & Non-Jew or Gentile.

Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Anyone that God has called, elected, and chosen.

TO WHOM: Elected Christians

WHAT: Eternal life: relationship between Jesus & believer forever.

WHY: Because God loves his children & he want their fellowship.

1 John 4:19 "We love him, because he first loved us." God set his love on us, so we can become his children. Then we love him.

WAY: Through faith in Jesus as God, his death & his resurrection.

Matthew 18:3 "And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Children have faith, trust and belief.

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Finding Jesus is finding the reason for living on earth: the way, truth and life.

Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith <it is> impossible to please <him>: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and <that> he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." The only way to please God is through a saving faith in Jesus as God.

WHERE: While we are on earth, we start eternal life - relationship.

John 10:10 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have <it> more abundantly." We have a filled & blessed life.

John 15:11 "These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and <that> your joy might be full." Full joy.

John 17:13 "And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves."

Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to <his> purpose." God works every situation for our ultimate good.

Ephesians 1:3 "Blessed <be> the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly <places> in Christ:" We have all blessings of God now.

2 Peter 1:2-4 "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, {3} According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that <pertain> unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: {4} Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." We have real and material blessings while on earth.

WHEN: After a person believes & calls - by prayer - upon the Lord.

Matthew 24:44 "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh." Be open to God's call. Don't put yourself into a position where you would not receive him.

2 Corinthians 6:2 "(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now <is> the accepted time; behold, now <is> the day of salvation.)" God calls his children, elects them, and chooses them at the perfect time. Today may be that time for you. Is God calling you right now? Don't delay to answer him. You may not have another time. Don't harden your heart against God.

WANT: Do you want God's blessings? He offers: health & prosperity.

Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Matthew 8:16-17 "When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with <his> word, and healed all that were sick: {17} That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare <our> sicknesses."

1 Peter 2:24 "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." Healing promised.

Luke 18:29-30 "And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, {30} Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting."

3 John 2 "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."

WAIT: For what? God wants to bless you supply: needs, joy & peace.

John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

John 16:24 "Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full."

Philippians 4:19 "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

1 John 5:14-15 "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: {15} And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." Bible=His will.
