INDUCTIVE BIBLE TOPIC STUDY
IS THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WITH THE EVIDENCE OF TONGUES OF
GOD OR OF THE DEVIL?
By Dennis Schmidt 11/2006
RETURN TO THE: BIBLE PAPERS HOME PAGE
This paper discusses are tongues of the Devil?" with scripture clearly
teaching that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with tongues as evidence is from
God. The paper is a response to a
book by Dr. Yvon Geoffrion
"Are Tongues of the Devil?"
All scriptures are from the King James' version Bible.
INDUCTIVE COMMENTS:
THEME: God is moving in the last days in
His direction. The Christian can move with Him or be left behind. This has
always been the problem for the religious person not to follow what clearly is
supported by the scriptures. The religious person is under bondage to his
teaching or experience & not open to God's word or work.
The Holy Spirit baptism with tongues & power came for the apostles to do
miracles, witness, knowledge, guidance, boldness, power over Satan, ETC. This
is needed just as much today as when the apostles were here. That is why in
these latter days God has restored the Holy Spirit baptism with tongues and
power.
Mark 16:17-18 "And these
signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out
devils; they shall speak with new tongues; {18} They shall take
up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not
hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall
recover."
PURPOSE: These gifts are needed today as much as
they were needed by the apostles. Paul meets people who may not have understand
about Jesus & ask them if they had the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Paul
considered this experience to be very important. This is just as true today.
Paul knew they received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit because they spoke with
tongues.
Acts 19:2-6 "He said unto
them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since
ye believed? And they said unto him, We
have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. {3} And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye
baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. {4} Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the
baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe
on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. {5} When they heard this, they were baptized in the
name of the Lord Jesus. {6} And when Paul had
laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied."
KEY VERSE: This passage has multiple
fulfillments i.e. at Pentecost & at the latter days. The tongue’ prophesy is not in Joel. At Pentecost the Holy Spirit
baptism occurred with tongues to prove they had it.
Joel 2:27-32 "And ye shall
know that I am in the midst of Israel,
and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall
never be ashamed. {28} And it shall come to pass afterward, that I
will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters
shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see
visions: {29} And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days
will I pour out my spirit. {30} And I will show wonders in the heavens
and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. {31} The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into
blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. {32} And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the
name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion
and in Jerusalem shall be
deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall
call." Afterward means a second fulfillment.
Acts 2:1, 3-6, 16-21 "And when
the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one
place. {3} And there appeared unto them cloven
tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. {4} And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began
to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. {5} And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out
of every nation under heaven. {6} Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were
confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
{16} But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; {17} And it
shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out
of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men
shall dream dreams: {18} And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will
pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: {19}
And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath;
blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: {20} The sun
shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that
great and notable day of the Lord come: {21} And it shall come to pass,
that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" 2

WHO: God written mostly by Bible authors
Luke, John, and Paul
TO WHOM: Elected Christians
WHAT: God is moving in the last days in His
direction. The Christian can move with Him or be left behind. This has always
been the problem for the religious person not to follow what clearly is
supported by the scriptures. The religious person is under bondage to his

up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not
hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall
recover."
WHY: God started a new dispensation of
working with the Gentiles. The Holy Spirit verified the experience by using the
believer's voice to speak a foreign language or tongues.
Acts 10:44-46 "While Peter yet spake these words,
the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. {45} And they of the circumcision which believed were
astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles
also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. {46} For
they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered
Peter,"
WAY:
Acts 2:1, 3-6"And when
the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one
{6} Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were
confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language"
Acts 19:2-6 "He said unto
them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since
ye believed? And they said unto him, We
have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. {3} And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye

baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe

name of the Lord Jesus. {6} And when Paul had
laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied."
WHEREAS: Tongues
are a gift from God as shown in (Acts 8:20; 10:45; 11:17) & not
unbeliever punishments.
Acts 8:19-20
"Saying, Give me also this power, that on
whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. {20} But Peter
said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought
that the gift of God may be purchased with money."
Peter,"
Acts 11:15-18
"And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the
beginning. {16} Then remembered I the word of
the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye
shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. {17} Forasmuch then as God gave
them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus
Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God? {18} When
they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God,
saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life."
WHERE: Earth
WHEN: The Holy Spirit baptism with tongues
& power came for the apostles to do miracles, witness, knowledge, guidance,
boldness, power over Satan, ETC. This is needed just as much today as when the
apostles were here. That is why in these latter days God has restored the Holy
Spirit baptism with tongues and power.
Matthew 3:11
"I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh
after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he
shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:" The
tongues on their heads were like fire.
John 7:37-39 "In the last
day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst,
let him come unto me, and drink. {38} He that believeth on me,
as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of
living water. {39} (But this spake he of the
Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the
Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet
glorified.)" How do they know that the Holy Spirit has come - by the
tongues and by the power.
These gifts are needed today as much as they were needed by the apostles. Paul
meets people who may not of understand about Jesus
& ask them if they had the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Paul consisted this experience to be very important. This is just
as true today. Paul knew they received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit because they
spoke with tongues.
Acts 19:2-6 "He said unto

have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. {3} And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye

baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe
on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. {5} When they heard this, they were baptized in the
name of the Lord Jesus. {6} And when Paul had
laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied."
WHILE: This same scripture states knowledge
shall vanish as well as tongues shall cease. If the knowledge (for example of
the Lord Jesus) vanish no person would be saved. When
is the perfect to come? The perfect is the return of the Lord Jesus & not
the Bible as a book which man both interprets wrong & Bible translations
have errors in them.
1 Corinthians 13:8-10
"Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues,
they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish
away. {9} For we know in part, and we prophesy in
part. {10} But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is
in part shall be done away." "Perfect is come" is the return
of the Lord Jesus.
No doctrine should be based on only one scripture since this could
lead to error. The baptized for the dead scripture is used by Mormons. The true
Church of Jesus Christ does not follow this. Likewise the tongues should
cease/done away doctrine should not be based on this one scripture.
1 Corinthians 15:29
"Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the
dead rise not at all? why are they then
baptized for the dead?" Mormons made this into a false doctrine.

XV) ALL THESE SCRIPTURES
SUPPORT BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WITH TONGUES:
I) OLD TESTAMENT - THIS
HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FOREIGN TONGUES:
These verses address a focus on law and not God. It has nothing to do with foreign
nations and tongues. God did punish
Judah and Israel
for their sins by sending foreign nations to defect them.
1 Corinthians 14:21-22 "In
the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will
I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me,
saith the Lord. {22} Wherefore tongues are for a
sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not:
but prophesying serveth not for them
that believe not, but for them which believe."
II) THIS IS FROM THE OLD
TESTAMENT SCRIPTURE:
Isaiah 28:9-16 "Whom
shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he
make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned
from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. {10} For
precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon
line; here a little, and there a little: {11} For with
stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. {12} To
whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and
this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.{13}
But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon
precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little;
that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
{14} Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful
men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
{15} Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell
are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall
not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we
hid ourselves: {16} Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay
in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a
sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste."
Isaiah 28:11 is fulfilled by 1
Corinthians 14:21.
Israel
was focused on law (verses 10 & 13) & not on God (verse 16). God wants His people to be obedient to
the law, & trust God. They
missed God.
III) DISPENSATION:
SALVATION AT THE TIME OF JESUS IS TO THE JEWISH PEOPLE & NOT TO THE
GENTILES:
See my paper: " God's Dispensations" for more information on this subject.
God was working with only the Jews in most of the Old Testament and Gentiles
who had to become Jews to enter in during that dispensation.
See my paper: "Justification
of faith - Old Testament Doctrine" for more information on this subject.
See my paper:
"Gospel in the Genealogy of Adam" for more information on this subject.
Matthew 10:5-7 "These twelve
Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the
Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: {6} But
go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
{7} And as ye go, preach, saying, The
kingdom of heaven is at hand." Jesus command.
Matthew 4:15-17 "The
land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim,
by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; {16} The
people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the
region and shadow of death light is sprung up. {17} From
that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom
of heaven is at hand." Promise in the Old Testament.
John 4:22
"Ye worship ye know not what: we know
what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews." Jesus made this
statement to the non Jew.
Matthew 15:22-26 "And,
behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto
him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is
grievously vexed with a devil. {23} But he answered her not a word. And
his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her
away; for she crieth after us. {24} But he
answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of
Israel.
{25} Then came she and worshipped him, saying,
Lord, help me. {26} But he answered and said, It is not meet
to take the children's bread, and cast it to dogs." Jesus
example for gentile shows that it was not easy for gentiles to come in at that
time.
Luke 24:47 "And that repentance and remission of sins should be
preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem."
Preach 1st to Jews, then outward to others.

Romans 11:11-12, 15-16, 25-27
"I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God
forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the
Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. {12} Now if the fall of them
be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of
the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
{15} For if the casting away of them be the
reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life
from the dead? {16} For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if
the root be holy, so are the branches. {25} For I would not, brethren,
that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in
your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until
the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. {26} And so
all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from
Jacob: {27} For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take
away their sins." God works with mainly Gentiles during the present
dispensation period. After the fullness of the Gentiles come
in, God will work again with the people of Israel
in the latter times.

"Restoration of the Kingdom of God to Israel" for more information on this subject.

"Former & Latter Rains" for more information on this subject.
IV) WHY DID GOD CHOOSE ISRAEL?:
Israel was
to bless the earth with God's knowledge but they failed to be obedient. True,
but God was working with Israel
in that dispensation and not all the peoples of the world. As shown up above
Jesus failed the test also, since He came mainly to the Jewish people.

V) WHAT ABOUT TONGUES
WITH THE JOEL PROPHECY?:
This passage has multiple fulfillments i.e. at Pentecost & at the latter
days. The tongue’ prophesy is not in Joel. At
Pentecost the Holy Spirit baptism occurred with tongues to prove they had it.
{16} But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; {17} And it
shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out
of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men
shall dream dreams: {18} And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will
pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: {19}
And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath;
blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: {20} The sun
shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that
great and notable day of the Lord come: {21} And it shall come to pass,
that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" 2

VI) GOD TOLD THEM TO WAIT
FOR HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM WITH FIRE:
The Holy Spirit baptism with tongues & power came for the apostles to do
miracles, witness, knowledge, guidance, boldness, power over Satan, ETC. This
is needed just as much today as when the apostles were here. That is why in
these latter days God has restored the Holy Spirit baptism with tongues and
power.
See my paper: "Holy
Spirit Baptism" for more information on this subject.
Matthew 3:11
"I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh
after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he
shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:" The
tongues on their heads were like fire.
See my paper:
"Triunity - Father, Son, & Holy Spirit" for more information on this subject.
Acts 1:4-5 "And, being
assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart
from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith
he, ye have heard of me. {5} For John truly baptized with water; but
ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence."
VII) HOW TO KNOW YOU HAVE
THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT? - TONGUE & POWER ARE INCLUDED WITH THE
BAPTISM:
God started a new dispensation of working with the Gentiles. The Holy Spirit
verified the experience by using the believer's voice to speak a foreign
language or tongues.
Peter,"
VIII) EXAMPLES IN THE
BOOK OF ACTS OF HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM WITH TONGUES AS A "GIFT" ARE
SHOWN:
Tongues are a gift from God as shown in (Acts 8:20; 10:45; 11:17) & not unbeliever punishments.
Acts 8:19-20
"Saying, Give me also this power, that on
whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. {20} But Peter
said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought
that the gift of God may be purchased with money."
IX) GOD'S REVELATION
REVEALED IN HIS TIMING IN THE END TIMES:
In the last 1800's the rapture teaching came forward. The background of this
teaching came from questionable Christian sources like the modern (restored)
Baptism of the Holy Spirit teaching with tongues. God chose to reveal His
doctrine in the end times in His way. The rapture doctrine is nonetheless
taught as a key teaching in the Bible believing church. Any doctrine God
reveals must agree with scriptures as the rapture & Baptism of the Holy
Spirit with tongues teachings do.
See my paper:
"End Times Events - Day of the Lord" for more information on this subject.
See my paper:
"God's Plan and Purpose for the Ages" for more information on this subject.

"Multiple Raptures" for more information on this subject.
Daniel 12:8-10 "And I
heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what
shall be the end of these things? {9} And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for
the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. {10} Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the
wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but
the wise shall understand."
John 12:13-16 "Took
branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna:
Blessed is the King of Israel
that cometh in the name of the Lord. {14} And Jesus, when he had
found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, {15} Fear not, daughter
of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting
on an ass's colt. {16} These things
understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified,
then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they
had done these things unto him."
Acts 1:6-8 "When they therefore were come together, they asked of him,
saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? {7} And he said unto them,
It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father
hath put in his own power. {8} But ye
shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and
ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem,
and in all Judaea,
and in Samaria, and unto
the uttermost part of the earth."
I believe this also applies to the end days since even today the gospel has
not gone to whole earth.
1 Peter 1:11-12 "Searching
what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did
signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the
glory that should follow. {12} Unto whom it was revealed, that not
unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which
are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with
the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to
look into."
Angels & man do not understand the way God does things & His timing.
Revelation 10:4 "And when
the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and
I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things
which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not." Even in the
end times God will seal things to a latter time.
X) HOLY SPIRIT
EXPERIENCES & BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WITH TONGUES ARE NOT THE SAME
EVENTS:
John 7:39
"(But this spake he of the Spirit, which
they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet
given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)"
Jesus ascension
John 14:16-17 "And I will
pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may
abide with you for ever; {17} Even the Spirit of truth;
whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth
him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he
dwelleth with you, and shall be in you."Dwells
with you is a Spirit Filling. Dwells in you is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
John 20:22-23 "And when he
had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto
them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: {23} Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them;
and whose soever sins ye
retain, they are retained." Not the Baptism of the Holy Spirit
that came Pentecost.
Acts 4:31 "And when they
had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and
they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness." This could
be either the Spirit filling or the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit
of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness,
faith, {23} Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." The
Christian filled.
Ephesians 5:18-20 "And be
not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
{19} Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing
and making melody in your heart to the Lord; {20} Giving thanks always
for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;"
This is a Christian filled with the Spirit.
XI) TWO DIFFERENT TONGUE
GIFTS DISCUSSED IN BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT - CHURCH & INDIVIDUAL: Gifts
for the church versus a gift for the individual:
1 Corinthians 12:4-7, 10, 28, 30
"Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. {5} And there are differences of administrations, but the
same Lord. {6} And there are diversities of
operations, but it is the same God which worketh
all in all. {7} "But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to
every man to profit withal. {10} To another the working of miracles; to another
prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds
of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: {28} And God
hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets,
thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps,
governments, diversities of tongues. {30} Have
all the gifts of healing? do all speak with
tongues? do all interpret?" Not
all people who speak with tongues have the tongues ministry gift to the Church.
These are not all the same gifts as some are administrations, operations, manifestations,
ministries gifts to the church. Everyone with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit
will speak with tongues. This is the individual's own prayer language between
him and God. This is not the same as a church ministry of tongues and
interpretation of tongues.
See my paper:
"Many Baptisms Presented in the Bible" for more information on this subject.
Note: (My comments are within the scriptures below)
1 Corinthians 14:2-5, 14-15, 18, 39
"For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue
speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no
man understandeth him; howbeit
in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. (This
language is between the individual and God only.) {3} But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to
edification, and exhortation, and comfort. {4} He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth
himself (The reason he speaks is he is praying a perfect prayer
between himself and God since it is God within him that prays. Since he has
faith that this is a perfect prayer he is edified. His voice is only used by
God for that prayer.); but he that prophesieth
edifieth the church. {5} I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater
is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church
may receive edifying. (This does not discourage tongues where God
has provided a person to interpret the tongues. In this church ministry, the
people hear God speaking to them for the Churches good. Old & New Testament
people heard God guiding them directly as individuals. God still uses this
means to guide the people for example to send them to various countries.)
{14} or if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth,
but my understanding is unfruitful. {15} What
is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the
understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the
understanding also. {18} I thank my God, I speak with tongues more
than ye all: {39} Wherefore, brethren, covet to
prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. (Paul prays by
his spirit in tongues & also without tongues more than any of them. He
states not to forbid speaking in tongues, which you recommend.)"
Because of correct use of tongues by the flesh of Christians - sin, in the
Church, some people do not have the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with tongues.
This does not means the Church can not teach her members correct usage of the
Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of tongues.
XII) WHAT ABOUT MARK 16:17-18 SCRIPTURES EXPERIENCES:
The Bible states not to tempt the Lord. Paul was bit by a
poison viper which fulfill these verses.
Mark 16:17-18 "And these
signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out
devils; they shall speak with new tongues; {18} They shall take
up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not
hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall
recover."
Luke 4:12
"And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not
tempt the Lord thy God." This is from the Deuteronomy scripture, but
applies in Mark 16 & Acts
28 as well.
Deuteronomy 6:16
"Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah."
Acts 28:3-6 "And when Paul
had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a
viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. {4} And when the
barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among
themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath
escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not
to live. {5} And he shook off the beast into
the fire, and felt no harm. {6} Howbeit they looked when he
should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they
had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed
their minds, and said that he was a god."God
prevented Satan's death attempt.
XIII) WHAT ABOUT TONGUES
- CEASE & DONE AWAY?:
This same scripture states knowledge shall vanish as well as tongues shall
cease. If the knowledge (for example of the Lord Jesus) vanish
no person would be saved. When is the perfect to come? The perfect is the
return of the Lord Jesus & not the Bible as a book which man both
interprets wrong & Bible translations have errors in them.
See my paper:
"God's Word/Bible/Scriptures" for more information on this subject.
See my paper:
"Bible Study & Interpretation Guideline" for more information on this subject.
See my paper: "Love" for more information on this subject.
XIV) WITH THE BAPTISM OF
THE HOLY SPIRIT COMES THE OTHER GIFTS (POWER, HEALING, MIRACLES, PROPHECY,
ETC.):
These gifts are needed today as much as they were needed by the apostles. Paul
meets people who may not of understand about Jesus
& ask them if they had the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Paul consisted this experience to be very important. This is just
as true today. Paul knew they received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit because they
spoke with tongues.

See my paper:
"What is a Born-Again & How to Become One?" for more information on this subject.
See my paper:
"True Gospel for Salvation by the Imputed Righteousness of Jesus" for more information on this subject.
XV) ALL THESE SCRIPTURES
SUPPORT BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WITH TONGUES:
God is moving in the last days in His direction. The Christian can move with
Him or be left behind. This has always been the problem for the religious
person not to follow what clearly is supported by the scriptures. The religious
person is under bondage to his teaching or experience & not open to God's
word or work.
