INDUCTIVE BIBLE TOPIC STUDY
DISCIPLES & OTHERS OF JESUS FAMILY
By Dennis Schmidt 3/2007
RETURN TO THE: BIBLE PAPERS HOME PAGE
This paper discusses the disciples, other people in the church, and their relationships
to Jesus. All scriptures are from the King James' version Bible.
INDUCTIVE COMMENTS:
THEME: Friends & family: Peter & Andrew;
James & John; Philip & Bartholomew (Nathaniel); James (less), Matthew
(publican) & Judas (Thaddaeus or Labbaeus). Possibly Simon (Zelotes) from tradition. Cousins: James & John (Salome - Mary's
sister); James,
Judas, & Matthew (Mary - Mary's sister).
After Jesus resurrection, He visits His brother James
who then believes. This is
true for all believers that God reveals Himself to be the rising Christ for the
believer to have faith.
1
Corinthians 15:7 "After that, he was seen of
James; then of all the apostles." Personal visit of resurrected
Christ may have been how his conversion was done.
PURPOSE:
Jesus had a special relationship with a small group of people. The group
included his mother, two brothers, his disciples, & a number of friends. He
was very close to the disciple John who he loved & committed his mother's
care to. He had a closer tie to three of his disciples: Peter, James & John
and to the twelve. Jesus had many disciples (70 in Luke 10:1)
& (500 in 1 Corinthians 15:6). Many of
the disciples upon finding Jesus led their brothers to the Lord. In fact, even
Jesus went to his brother James when he was resurrected. The woman
at the cross show that many of Jesus' disciples had a cousin
relationship with him. These people may have known Jesus early in his life, but
unlike his brothers they did not reject his ministry. Even his own town's
people rejected his ministry. Living near Jesus and seeing his perfect life,
did not assure a person's believing in Jesus unto salvation.
Mark 6:4 "But Jesus said
unto them, A prophet is not without honour,
but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own
house."
Matthew 13:57
"And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A
prophet is not without honour, save in his own
country, and in his own house."
John 20:30-31 "And many
other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which
are not written in this book: {31} But these are written, that
ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that
believing ye might have life through his name."
KEY VERSE:
Matthew 10:2-4 "Now the
names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called
Peter, and Andrew his brother; James <the son> of Zebedee, and John his brother; {3} Philip,
and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James
<the son> of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
{4} Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed
him."
Mark 3:16-19 "And Simon
he surnamed Peter; {17} And James the <son> of Zebedee,
and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges,
which is, The sons of thunder: {18} And Andrew, and Philip,
and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the
<son> of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus,
and Simon the Canaanite, {19} And Judas Iscariot, which also
betrayed him: and they went into an house."
Luke 6:14-16 "Simon,
(whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James
and John, Philip and Bartholomew, {15} Matthew and Thomas,
James the <son> of Alphaeus, and Simon
called Zelotes, {16} And Judas <the
brother> of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the
traitor." Brother in the NIV
is son. Greek: Judas of James.
Acts 1:13
"And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode
both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip,
and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James <the
son> of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas <the brother> of James."
WHO: God
mainly by Bible authors Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Paul
TO WHOM:
Elected Christians
WHAT: Friends & family: Peter & Andrew;
James & John; Philip & Bartholomew (Nathaniel); James (less), Matthew
(publican) & Judas (Thaddaeus or Labbaeus). Possibly Simon (Zelotes) from tradition. Cousins: James & John (Salome - Mary's

Mark 6:4 "But Jesus said

Matthew 13:57
"And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A

other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which
are not written in this book: {31} But these are written, that
ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that
believing ye might have life through his name."
WHY: Jesus brothers and many others did not receive Him gospel message.
Matthew 13:55-56 "Is not
this the carpenter's son? is not his mother
called Mary? and his brethren, James,
and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? {56} And his
sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this <man> all these
things?"
Jesus brothers did not believe and wanted Him to
die.
John 7:1-9 "After these
things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he
would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him. {2} Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand. {3} His
brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see
the works that thou doest. {4} For <there is> no
man <that> doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh
to be known openly. If thou do these things, show thyself to the world. {5} For neither did his brethren believe in him. {6} Then
Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but
your time is alway ready. {7} The
world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I
testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. {8} Go ye
up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet
full come. {9} When he had said these words unto them,
he abode <still> in Galilee. {10} But when his
brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but
as it were in secret." They probably wanted Jesus killed because of
jealousy.
WAY: After Jesus
resurrection, He visits His brother James who now believes.
1 Corinthians 15:7 "After
that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles."
Personal visit of resurrected Christ may have been how his conversion was done.
Acts 21:18
"And the <day> following Paul went in with us unto James; and
all the elders were present." James became a leader in the Church
1 Corinthians 15:7 "After
that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles."
Galatians 1:19
"But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's
brother."
1 Corinthians 9:5 "Have we
not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other
apostles, and <as> the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?"
James 1:1 "James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus
Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting."
Acts 1:14
"These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication,
with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren."
Later several family members became believers.
WHEREAS: Jesus family
considered Him to be mad or crazy.
Mark 3:21
"And when his friends heard <of it>, they went out to lay hold on
him: for they said, He is beside himself." (Acts
26:24 "And as he thus spake for himself,
Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much
learning doth make thee mad.")
Mark 3:30-35 "Because they
said, He hath an unclean spirit. {31} There came then his
brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.
{32} And the multitude sat about him, and they said
unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.
{33} And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother,
or my brethren? {34} And he looked round about on them
which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! {35} For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my
brother, and my sister, and mother."
Luke 8:19-21 "Then came to
him <his> mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for
the press. {20} And it was told him <by certain>
which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see
thee. {21} And he answered and said unto them, My
mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it."
WHERE:
Israel
WHEN: At time of Jesus of
earth.
WHILE: Jude’s name means praised. Jude possibly also
wanted to see Jesus killed (see John 7:1-9
under James). He did not believe in Jesus. He later wrote the book of Jude.
Mark 6:3 "Is not this the
carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and
Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they
were offended at him."
Jude 1 "Jude, the servant
of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified
by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, <and> called:"

for more information on
this subject.
A) DISCIPLES BROTHERS:
Peter & Andrew; James & John; Philip & Bartholomew (Nathaniel);
James (less), Matthew (publican) & Judas (Thaddaeus
or Labbaeus). Possibly Simon (Zelotes) from tradition.
B) COUSINS OF JESUS:
James & John (Salome - Mary's sister); James, Judas, & Matthew (Mary
- Mary's sister).
Matthew 10:2-4 "Now the
names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called
Peter, and Andrew his brother; James <the son> of Zebedee, and John his brother; {3} Philip,

"And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode
both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip,
and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James <the
son> of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas <the brother> of James."
II) PETER: Jesus
changed his name from Simon (meaning hearing with acceptance) to Peter (meaning
rock or rock like). The rock is considered to be small as in a stone. Jesus
might of judged Peter to be as a rock, strong and hard
in purpose. Cephas is Aramaic and Petros (or Peter)
is greek. His father was
John (Jona is Aramaic). He was married. He brother
was Andrew, who brought him to the Lord. He was one of three closest disciples
with James & John. He was a pillars in the Jerusalem
church with a ministry to the Jews.
He wrote 1 Peter and 2 Peter.
See my paper: "1 Peter
Inductive Bible Study" for more information on this subject.
See my paper: "2 Peter 2
Inductive Bible Study" for more information on this subject.
A) ROCK:
Matthew 16:18
"And I say also unto thee, That thou
art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates
of hell shall
not prevail against it."
John 1:42
"And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said,
Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt
be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A
stone."
B) MARRIED:
Matthew 8:14
"And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's
mother laid, and sick of a fever."
1 Corinthians 9:5 "Have we
not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other
apostles, and <as> the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?"
C) CALLING TO THE
MINISTRY: See Matthew 4:18-20 -
calling in Andrew.
Galatians 2:7 "But
contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision
was committed unto me, as <the gospel> of the circumcision <was>
unto Peter;"
Galatians 2:9 "And when James,
Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the
grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of
fellowship; that we <should go> unto the heathen, and they unto the
circumcision."
III) ANDREW:
His name means a stout and strong man. He was originally a disciple of John the
baptist and with the apostle John were Jesus
first two disciples. He brought his brother Peter
to Jesus.
John 1:35-42 "Again the
next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; {36} And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith,
Behold the Lamb of God! {37} And the two
disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. {38} Then Jesus
turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What
seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted,
Master,) where dwellest thou? {39} He saith
unto them, Come and see. They came and saw
where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.
{40} "One of the two which heard John <speak>, and followed
him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. {41} He first findeth his own brother Simon,
and saith unto him, We have found the Messias,
which is, being interpreted, the Christ. {42} And he
brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the
son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by
interpretation, A stone."
A) CALLED BY JESUS TO
MINISTRY:
Matthew 4:18-20 "And Jesus,
walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter,
and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were
fishers. {19} And he saith unto them, Follow
me, and I will make you fishers of men. {20} And
they straightway left <their> nets, and followed him.
IV) THOMAS:
His name means twin. Thomas is his hebrew
name. He is also called in greek
Didymus.
A) WILLING TO DIE WITH
JESUS:
John 11:16
"Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus,
unto his fellow disciples, Let us also go, that we may die
with him."
B) DOUBTING THOMAS:
John 20:24-29 "But Thomas,
one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with
them when Jesus came. {25} The other disciples
therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put
my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side,
I will not believe. {26} And after eight days again his disciples were
within, and Thomas with them: <then> came Jesus, the doors being
shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace <be> unto you. {27} Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and
behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust
<it> into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
{28} And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
{29} Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me,
thou hast believed: blessed <are> they that have not seen,
and <yet> have believed."
C) OTHER DISCIPLES
DOUBTED ALSO:
Matthew 28:16-17 "Then the eleven
disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where
Jesus had appointed them. {17} And when they
saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted."
V) JOHN AND JAMES:
Father = Zebedee & mother = Salome; They are called the sons of thunder as they asked Jesus to
kill by thunder.
VI) JAMES:
His names means supplanter and is the greek form of hebrew

James and John who also had a ship. He with John & Peter were the three
closest disciples to Jesus. He was the first apostle martyred.
A) FISHING BUSINESS:
Luke 5:10 "And so <was> also James, and John, the sons

Matthew 4:21-22 "And going
on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James <the son> of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with
Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he
called them. {22} And they immediately left the
ship and their father, and followed him."
C) THREE CLOSEST
DISCIPLES TO JESUS:
Matthew 17:1-2 "And after
six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and
John his brother, and bringeth them up into
an high mountain apart, {2} And was transfigured before them: and
his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light."
Matthew 26:36-37 "Then
cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane,
and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go
and pray yonder. {37} And he took with him
Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to
be sorrowful and very heavy."
Mark 5:36-37
"As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto
the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only
believe. {37} And he suffered no man to follow
him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James."
D) FIRST APOSTLE MARTYRED:
Acts 12:1-2 "Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth
<his> hands to vex certain of the church. {2} And he killed James the brother of John with the sword."
VII) JOHN: His
name means Lord of grace or whom the Lord graciously gave. He was referred to
as the disciple that Jesus loved. His books reference love many times. He is
the third of the closest disciples to Jesus. He is also one of the three
pillars of the church, Paul refers to in Galatians
2:9. He wrote John, 1st John, 2nd John, 3rd John, &

"And James the <son> of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them
Boanerges, which is, The sons of
thunder:"
A) MOTHER OF JAMES AND
JOHN:
Matthew 27:55-56 "And many
women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee,
ministering unto him: {56} Among which was Mary
Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses,
and the mother of Zebedee's children."
Mark 15:40
"There were also women looking on afar off: among whom
was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;"
Mark 16:1 "And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene,
and Mary the <mother> of James, and Salome, had bought sweet
spices, that they might come and anoint him."
B) JESUS GIVES HIS
MOTHER, MARY, TO JOHN TO CARE FOR:
See my paper: "Mary" for more information on this subject.
See my paper: "Virgin" for more information on this subject.
John 19:25-27 "Now there
stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary
the <wife> of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
{26} When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the
disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother,
Woman, behold thy son! {27} Then saith he to the disciple,
Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his
own <home>."
C) CALLING TO THE
MINISTRY: See Matthew 4:21-22 -
calling in James.
VIII) JAMES, JUDAS &
MATTHEW: Father = Alphaeus; mother =
Mary; James the less (smaller); Matthew; Judas; possibly Simon the Zelotes.

His name means gift of the Lord. He was also called Levi and was from the tribe
of Levi's. He was a tax collector (publican) which were
hated by the Jews. He is the writer of Matthew.
A) CALLING TO THE
MINISTRY:
Mark 2:14 "And as he
passed by, he saw Levi the <son> of Alphaeus
sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me.
And he arose and followed him." Levi = Matthew who like James and
John has Alphaeus as father.
X) JAMES:
His name means supplanter and is the greek form of hebrew
name Jacob. He was probably smaller in size from James, son of Zebedee, and was called James the less.
A) MOTHER OF JAMES,
JUDAS, & MATTHEW:
Mark 15:40 "There were also
women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the
mother of James the less and of Joses, and
Salome;" Joses = Judas
Mark 16:1 "And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene,
and Mary the <mother> of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices,
that they might come and anoint him."
XI) JUDAS:
His name means praised. He was also called Thaddaeus
which means praise of God. The NIV
in Luke 6:16 says son of James.
Mark 15:47 "And Mary
Magdalene and Mary <the mother> of Joses
beheld where he was laid."
Luke 6:15-16 "Matthew
and Thomas, James the <son> of Alphaeus,
and Simon called Zelotes, {16} And Judas <the
brother> of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor."
Acts 1:13 "And when they
were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and
James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew,
James <the son> of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas <the brother> of James."
XII) SIMON:
His name means hearing with acceptance. He was called Simon of Canaanite and Zelotes. The Zelotes were a group

BARTHOLOMEW: Probably brothers.
XIV) PHILIP:
His names means loving. He brought his brother
Nathaniel to Jesus.
A) CALLING TO THE
MINISTRY:
John 1:43-49 "The day
following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me. {44} Now Philip
was of Bethsaida,
the city of Andrew and Peter. {45} Philip findeth
Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law,
and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of
Joseph. {46} And Nathanael said unto
him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto
him, Come and see. {47} Jesus saw Nathanael coming
to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! {48} Nathanael
saith unto him, Whence knowest
thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before
that Philip called thee, when thou wast under
the fig tree, I saw thee. {49} Nathanael
answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou
art the King of Israel."
XV) BARTHOLOMEW:
His name means son of Thoimai. He is also called
Nathaniel which means given of God. He is probably the brother of Philip. He
did not think anything good could comes from Nazareth. Jesus said saw good in

When Jesus told him what he was doing, Nathaniel said Jesus is God.
XVI) JESUS BROTHERS JAMES
& JUDE:
XVII) JAMES:
His name means supplanter and is the greek form of hebrew
name Jacob. At first James and his brothers did not believe in Jesus and may
have wanted him killed (John 7:1-9). He was probably married (1 Corinthians
9:5) and probably the oldest of Jesus brothers (Mark 6:3) since he leads the
list. He wrote the book of James.
A) JESUS BROTHERS NAMES:
Matthew 13:55-56 "Is not
this the carpenter's son? is not his mother
called Mary? and his brethren, James,
and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? {56} And his
sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this <man> all these
things?"
B) BROTHERS DID NOT
BELIEVE IN JESUS AND MAY HAVE WANTED HIM KILL:
John 7:1-9 "After these
things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because
the Jews sought to kill him. {2} Now the Jews'
feast of tabernacles was at hand. {3} His brethren therefore said unto him,
Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy
disciples also may see the works that thou doest. {4} For
<there is> no man <that> doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, show
thyself to the world. {5} For neither did his
brethren believe in him. {6} Then Jesus said unto them, My
time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.
{7} The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are
evil. {8} Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet
unto this feast: for my time is not yet full come. {9} When
he had said these words unto them, he abode <still> in Galilee.
{10} But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the
feast, not openly, but as it were in secret." They probably wanted Jesus
killed because of jealousy.
C) BROTHERS RECEIVE HOLY
SPIRIT BAPTISM AT PENECOST:
Acts 1:14 "These all
continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary
the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren." Several family
members were believers.
See my paper:
"Holy Spirit Baptism" for more information on this subject.
D) JAMES IS ONE OF THE
LEADERS OF CHURCH:
Acts 21:18 "And the
<day> following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the
elders were present."
1 Corinthians 15:7 "After
that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles."
Galatians 1:19 "But other
of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother."
E) JAMES IS PROBABLY
MARRIED:
1 Corinthians 9:5 "Have we
not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other
apostles, and <as> the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?"
F) JAMES WROTE THE BOOK
OF JAMES:
James 1:1 "James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus
Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting."
See my paper: "God's
Word/Bible/Scriptures" for more information on this subject.
See my paper: "James New
Testament Bible Study" for more information on this subject.
G) CALLING TO THE
MINISTRY:
1 Corinthians 15:7 "After
that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles."
Personal visit of resurrected Christ may have been how his conversion was done.
XVIII) JUDE:
His name means praised. Jude possibly also wanted to see Jesus killed (see John
7:1-9 under James). He did not believe in Jesus. He wrote
the book of Jude.
A) JESUS BROTHERS NAMES:
Mark 6:3 "Is not this the
carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and
Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they
were offended at him."
B) JUDE WROTE THE BOOK OF
JUDE:
See my paper: "Jude - 2
Peter 2 Inductive Bible Study" for more information on this subject.
Jude 1 "Jude, the servant
of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified
by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, <and> called:"
XIX) MARY:
Jesus mother Mary means exalted of the Lord.
See my paper: "Mary" for more information on this subject.
See my paper: "Virgin" for more information on this subject.
A) PROPHECY OF JESUS
RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS FAMILY:
Psalms 69:8-9 "I am
become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's
children. {9} For the zeal of thine house hath
eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon
me."
B) FAMILY CONSIDERED
JESUS TO BE MAD:
Mark 3:21 "And when his
friends heard <of it>, they went out to lay hold on him: for they
said, He is beside himself." (Acts 26:24 "And as he
thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud
voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee
mad.")
C) JESUS AND HIS
DISCIPLES WENT TO WEDDING AT CANA:
John 2:12 "After this he
went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren,
and his disciples: and they continued there not many days." Jesus
went to wedding with family & disciples.
D) SUPPORT FOR JESUS AND
HIS DISCIPLE MINISTRY:
Luke 24:10 "It was Mary
Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary <the mother> of James, and
other <women that were> with them, which told these things unto the
apostles."
Luke 8:3 "And Joanna the wife of Chuza
Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of
their substance."
Luke 24:18 "And the one
of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering
said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the
things which are come to pass there in these days?" Two disciples on road
to Emmaus met resurrected Jesus.
John 19:25 "Now there stood
by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the
<wife> of Cleophas, and Mary"
Magdalene."
XX) CONCLUSION:
Mark 6:4 "But Jesus said
unto them, A prophet is not without honour,
but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own
house."
Matthew 13:57 "And they
were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not
without honour, save in his own country,
and in his own house."
John 20:30-31 "And many
other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which
are not written in this book: {31} But these are written, that
ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that
believing ye might have life through his name."
