OVERVIEW OF BETWEEN JESUS' DEATH & RESURRECTION WHAT WAS HE ACCOMPLISHING?

This paper discusses what could have occurred during the three days between Jesus death and resurrection. All scriptures are from the King James' version Bible.

INDUCTIVE COMMENTS:

THEME: The paper points out that Jesus had to go to Paradise to be with the other person who died on the cross. I believe he also proclaimed his victory over Satan and the lost souls. He took the keys of death and Hell. He took the captive Old Testament saints to a new Paradise in the third Heaven. Jesus won for us eternal life and gave the believer his power & authority to live that new life. You too can have his power & authority. Ask Him to be your Savior & Lord

PURPOSE: I believe Jesus proclaimed his victory over Satan and the lost souls. He took the keys of death and Hell. He took the captive Old Testament saints to a new Paradise in the third Heaven.

John 12:31-33 Satan lost his authority.

Luke 23:40-43 Jesus went to Paradise which was in the heart of the earth. The location of Paradise was Abraham's bosom. Jesus later moved Paradise up to a heavenly realm. See Luke 16:19-26 next area.

Ephesians 4:8-10 Jesus went down & transferred the Old Testament believers.

KEY VERSE:

WHAT: Jesus was in the earth three days and evenings.

Luke 24:21 Jesus completed a few things the 3 days.

WHY: Jesus removed Satan power. Keys are symbolic of authority, power & control.

Revelation 1:18 Jesus proclaimed his authority over all things.

Hebrews 2:14 Jesus destroyed devils power of death.

Revelation 3:7 Jesus controls the keys.

Isaiah 22:22 Keys were large & carried over shoulder

Isaiah 9:6-7 shoulder=power place.

WAY:

Genesis 3:15 It (Jesus death) bruised the head (Satan's authority) and thou (Satan) bruised his heel (temporary wound to Jesus life/kingdom as the disciples saw him die).

Matthew 28:18 Jesus won the power.

John 12:31-33 Satan lost his authority.

WHEREAS: Jesus also preached (proclaimed) who He is & what He completed. Not to give the lost a second chance. Noah had preached righteousness onto them during the time he built the ark. None of them responded to Noah.

Luke 16:19-26 Abraham's Bosom is now in a heavenly Paradise. A great gulf separate the two areas & both groups are locked up. Jesus took death & hell keys from Satan.

Matthew 27:52-53 Some were allowed to go into the city, then went to heaven.

2 Corinthians 12:2-4 Paul was transferred up to Paradise.

Revelation 2:7 Paradise is where God's presence is.

WHILE: Provided Eternal life to the believer.

John 3:14-16 Believers have this assurance.

II) SATAN KINGDOM ESTABLISHED:

Matthew 4:8-9 Satan's domain is shown, in that Satan could offer the his kingdoms to Jesus.
