KEY VERSES:

Jude 1:3-4 "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.{4} For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ."

KEY WORD(S)/VERSES:

[ contend ] (3, 9); [ faith ] (4, 20); [ ungodly ] (4, 15, 18); [ reserved ] (6, 13); [ Holy Ghost ] (19, 20)

OUTLINE FOR JUDE:

I) SALUTATION: {JUDE 1-2}

II) CONTEND FOR FAITH & WARNING AGAINST APOSTATES IN CHURCH: {JUDE 3-4}

III) OLD TESTAMENT EXAMPLES SHOW JUDGMENT TO THESE APOSTATES: {JUDE 5-16}

IV) KEEPING YOURSELVES IN FAITH BY PRAY, LOVE, & CHRISTIAN ACTS: {JUDE 17-23}

V) CLOSING DOXOLOGY TO GOD: {JUDE 24-25}

Jude 4 warns of those who would pervert the grace of God. They tried to convince believes that God's grace gave them a license to sin since they had liberty. They also denied Jesus Christ as Sovereign Lord. Paul write against this also in Galatians 5:1-26. Gnosticism: Spirit totally good & flesh or matter totally evil. They can commit any sin as matter is evil.

This is heresy = To choose, possesses salvation, but choose error.

Galatians 5:13 "For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only <use> not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another."

I) SALUTATION: {JUDE 1-2}

WHO: Jude, the brother of James (he & James are half brothers of Jesus) to WHOM: Saints & called ones.

Jude 1 "Jude, the servant of M Jesus M T Christ T, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by /\ God /\ the /\ Father /\, and preserved in M Jesus M T Christ T, <and> called:" Jude was Christ' brother as was James also. Jude is a form of Judah (Greek: Judas). Also Galatians 1:19.

Jude brother of James:

See my papers: "Apostles" for more information on this subject.

See my papers: "Disciples and Others of Jesus Family" for more information on this subject.

Jude/James didn't believe at first & wanted Jesus killed John 7:1-8

Matthew 13:55 "Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?"

Mark 6:3 "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him."

Acts 1:14 "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren."

Sanctified: Set apart or consecration for God's purpose by God.

See my paper: "Salvation Biblical Word Glossary" for more information on this subject.

See my paper: "Christian Growth" for more information on this subject.

John 17:17-19 "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. {18} As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. {19} And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth."

Preserved: Kept/reserved (vs 24) as to guard from injury or loss.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and <I pray God> your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Called: Effectual calling by God with a positive response by man.

See my paper: "Is Free Will Biblical?" for more information on this subject.

Romans 8:28-30 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to <his> purpose. {29} For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate <to be> conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. {30} Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."

God calls for his purpose. God: predestinates, called, justified & glorified the person he wants to save. We just respond.

Jude 2 "Mercy unto you, and peace and love, be multiplied."

Mercy: Not getting what we deserved as compared with grace: getting what we do not deserve.

Peace: Hebrew word Shalom used for hello, good-bye & God bless you.

Only God gives peace to ones spirit of forgiveness & restoration.

John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Love: See 1 Corinthians 13:1-13. Love grows & is a continue walk.

See my paper: "Love" for more information on this subject.

II) CONTEND FOR FAITH & WARNING AGAINST APOSTATES IN CHURCH: {JUDE 3-4}

Jude 3 "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort <you> that ye should earnestly [ contend ] for the [ faith ] which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude is presenting a more important subject. Contending for the total Gospel in Jesus.

Common Salvation:

See my paper: "True Gospel for Salvation by the Imputed Righteousness of Jesus" for more information on this subject.

See my paper: "Salvation Biblical Word Glossary" for more information on this subject.

See my paper: "What is a Born-Again & How to Become One?" for more information on this subject.

Contend: Faith under attach must be defended (contend) against.

faith: Daily walk in Jesus. Paul & we run (contend) for the prize.

See my paper: "Faith" for more information on this subject.

1 Corinthians 9:24,27 "Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. {27} But I keep under my body, and bring <it> into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."

WHAT: CERTAIN MEN CREPT IN UNAWARES ORDAINED TO CONDEMNATION.

Jude 4 "For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, [ ungodly ] men, turning the grace of our /\ God /\ into lasciviousness, and denying the only /\ Lord /\ /\ God /\, and our /\ Lord /\ M Jesus M T Christ T."

WAY: TURNING GRACE TO LASCIVIOUSNESS & DENYING GOD & JESUS.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

KEY WORD: [ UNGODLY ]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1) {4} Ordained to condemnation

(2) {15} Judgment executed on:

(a) {15} Ungodly commit men deeds

(b) {15} Who do ungodly sins by their hard speech

(3) {18} Mockers who walk ungodly lusts

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 Peter 2:1-3 "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. {2} And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. {3} And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not."

Before ordained to condemnation/judgment now of a long time lingers not: Sovereign God uses man's natural selves & judge us.

See my paper: "Some Saved and Some Lost God's Sovereignty" for more information on this subject.

Ephesians 1:5,11 "Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, {11} In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:"

False teachers: Matthew 24:4-5,11; Acts 20:29-30; Galatians 1:6-9

Damnable heresies: Teachings leading to moral & spiritual decline.

The way of truth shall be evil spoken: Bad example to world.

Turning grace to lasciviousness: God has giving us liberty, but

See my paper: "Grace" for more information on this subject.

God's grace isn't a license to sin without restraint.

Romans 6:1-2 "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? {2} God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"

Galatians 5:13 "For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only <use> not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another."

III) OLD TESTAMENT EXAMPLES SHOW JUDGMENT TO THESE APOSTATES: {JUDE 5-16}

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LIST: {JUDE 5-7} EXAMPLES OF JUDGMENT FOR OLD TESTAMENT SINNERS

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1) {5} Egypt gods & people went through 10 plagues

(2) {6} Angels which kept not their first estate

(3) {7} Sodom & Gomorrha and the cities about them

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Three examples of the Lord's saving and the Lord's divine judgment:

Jude 5 "I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the /\ Lord /\, having saved the (1) people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not."

Saved the people out of the land of Egypt:

1 Corinthians 10:1-2,5 "Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; {2} And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; {5} But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. {6} Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted."

Jude 6 "And the (2) angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, /\ he /\ hath [ reserved ] in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day."

2 Peter 2:4-5 "For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast <them> down to hell, and delivered <them> into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; {5} And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth <person>, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly"

Angels which kept not their first estate:

See my paper: "Jewish Bible Teachings on Heaven, Hell, & Spirit Beings" for more information on this subject.

See my paper: "Judgments of Believer & Unbeliever" for more information on this subject.

Matthew 8:29-31 "And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? {31} So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine."

Matthew 25:41 "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:" Hell is also darkness (no light of Jesus).

Sons of God: Angels or line of Seth with daughters of Cain.

Genesis 6:1-4 "And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, {2} That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they <were> fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. {3} And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also <is> flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. {4} There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare <children> to them, the same <became> mighty men which <were> of old, men of renown."

Matthew 22:30 "For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven."

Jude 7 "Even as (3) Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire." Hell's external fire for homosexuals.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 Peter 2:6-8 "And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned <them> with an overthrow, making <them> an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; {7} And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: {8} (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed <his> righteous soul from day to day with <their> unlawful deeds;)" Results of sin is still the same to righteous & sinners.

Sodom and Gomorrha: Homosexual perversions

Genesis 19:5 "And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where <are> the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CONTRAST: {JUDE 8-10} APOSTATES

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1) {8} Speak evil of dignities

(2) {10} Speak evil of things they know not

(3) {10} Brute beasts corrupt themselves

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jude 8 "Likewise also these <filthy> dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities." ...authorities...

Despise Dominions & authorities:

See my paper: "The Christian Position on Civil Authority & Nonresistance" for more information on this subject.

Dreamers/defile flesh: Sensual lust and homosexual perversions.

Romans 1:24 "Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:" See also Romans 1:25-32

Jude 9 "Yet Michael the archangel, when [ contending ] with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The /\ Lord /\ rebuke thee." Angels do not rashly accuse or condemn, but merely report facts without railing. Moses body not found.

2 Peter 2:9-11 "The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: {10} But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous <are they>, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. {11} Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord." Angel respect

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CONTRAST: {JUDE 9} MICHAEL ARCHANGEL

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1) {9} Disputed with devil for the body of Moses

(2) {9} Did not bring railing accusation

(3) {9} Said "The Lord rebuke thee"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Michael: The name means who is like unto God! or who is as God.

Daniel 10:13 "But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia."

Daniel 10:21 "But I will show thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and <there is> none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince."

Daniel 12:1 "And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation <even> to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book."

Revelation 12:7 "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,"

Zechariah 3:1-2 "And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. {2} And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: <is> not this a brand plucked out of the fire?" Jesus also showed respect to Satan.

Jude 10 "But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves." Speak against Jesus, church, ministers, and his doctrines or teachings. Animal passions & appetites.

2 Peter 2:12 "But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;"

Speak evil of things they know not:

2 Timothy 3:1-5 "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. {2} For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, {3} Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, {4} Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; {5} Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."

3 EXAMPLES OF OLD TESTAMENT PEOPLE WHOSE SINS COMPARED WITH THESE:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LIST: {JUDE 11} EVIL SINS

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1) {11} Way of Cain

(2) {11} Error of Balaam

(3) {11} Gainsaying of Core

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jude 11 "Woe unto them! for they have gone in the (1) way of Cain, and ran greedily after the (2) error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the (3) gainsaying of Core." Core is Korah.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 Peter 2:15-16 "Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam <the son> of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; {16} But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet."

Cain: Works of his own righteousness of evil - not blood atonement.

Genesis 4:3,5,8-9 "And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. {5} But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. {8} And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. {9} And the LORD said unto Cain, Where <is> Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: <Am> I my brother's keeper?"

1 John 3:12 "Not as Cain, <who> was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous."

Balaam: Caused Israel to sin (idols/commit fornication) for greed.

Numbers 22:7,12-13,18,21-23,27-28,31 "And the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of divination in their hand; and they came unto Balaam, and spake unto him the words of Balak. {12} And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they <are> blessed. {13} And Balaam rose up in the morning, and said unto the princes of Balak, Get you into your land: for the LORD refuseth to give me leave to go with you. {18} And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do less or more. {21} And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab. {22} And God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants <were> with him. {23} And the ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into the way. {27} And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam's anger was kindled, and he smote the ass with a staff. {28} And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times? {31} Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face." Balaam made good confession in verse 18, but God already gave Balaam his word and Balaam should not have asked again.

Numbers 24:1 "And when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness."

Numbers 31:8,16 "And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; <namely>, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword. {16} Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD."

Revelation 2:14 "But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication."

Core (Korah): Usurped authority not giving by God & opposed, denied, & contradicted God's proper authority figure.

Numbers 16:3-7,27-29,33 "And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, <Ye take> too much upon you, seeing all the congregation <are> holy, every one of them, and the LORD <is> among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD? {4} And when Moses heard <it>, he fell upon his face: {5} And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the LORD will show who <are> his, and <who is> holy; and will cause <him> to come near unto him: even <him> whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him. {6} This do; Take you censers, Korah, and all his company; {7} And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the LORD to morrow: and it shall be <that> the man whom the LORD doth choose, he <shall be> holy: <ye take> too much upon you, ye sons of Levi. {27} So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children. {28} And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these works; for <I have> not <done them> of mine own mind. {29} If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; <then> the LORD hath not sent me. {33} They, and all that <appertained> to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation."

Numbers 26:9-10 "And the sons of Eliab; Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. This <is that> Dathan and Abiram, <which were> famous in the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the LORD: {10} And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men: and they became a sign."

These usurped authority not giving by God. Opposing & contradicted God's proper authority namely, Moses. This followed a similar usurping of God's authority to whoever he wills. Miriam and Aaron went against Moses which should of been an example to Korah.

Numbers 12:1-2,6-10 "And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. {2} And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard <it>. {6} And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, <I> the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, <and> will speak unto him in a dream. {7} My servant Moses <is> not so, who <is> faithful in all mine house. {8} With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? {9} And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed. {10} And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam <became> leprous, <white> as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, <she was> leprous." Moses intercedes for her.

2 Peter 2:13-14 "And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, <as> they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots <they are> and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; {14} Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:"

Love feasts of charity:

See my paper: "Communion" for more information on this subject.

1 Corinthians 11:20-21 "When ye come together therefore into one place, <this> is not to eat the Lord's supper. {21} For in eating every one taketh before <other> his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken." The Lord's supper was given in conjunction with a feast meal or love feast. Just as Jesus gave it with the Passover meal which is a feast meal (Matthew 26:18-, Mark 14:13-).

Eyes full of adultery, and cannot cease from sin:

See my paper: "Unpardonable Sin" for more information on this subject.

Ephesians 2:1-3 "And you <hath he quickened>, who were dead in trespasses and sins: {2} Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: {3} Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others."

Matthew 25:41 "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:" Results of being cursed and their sins.

Hebrews 6:4-6 "For <it is> impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, {5} And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, {6} If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put <him> to an open shame."

Clouds without water/trees without fruit: Representing Christians but their is no fruits, signs, or deeds of a walk with Jesus. No refreshments to thirsty souls who are spiritually dry.

See my paper: "Walk as Jesus Walked" for more information on this subject.

Twice dead/plucked up by the roots: Once Christians, they are dead spiritually now, after departing from the faith (unpardonable sin).

Luke 8:13 "They on the rock <are they>, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away."

Jude 13 "(6) Raging waves of the sea, (7) foaming out their own shame; (8) wandering stars, to whom is [ reserved ] the blackness of darkness for ever." Also see Jude 6 for angels reserved under darkness.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 Peter 2:17 "These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever."

Raging waves/wandering stars/clouds - tempest: No purpose in life.

Fierce/untamed/depositing mire & dirt where it flows. Like meteors, shooting stars that streak across shies with great brightness & vanish quickly with no lasting light.

Isaiah 57:20-21 "But the wicked <are> like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. {21} <There is> no peace, saith my God, to the wicked."

Darkness forever: A picture of Hell - no love, no hope & no joy.

Matthew 8:12 "But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

Jude 14 "And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the /\ Lord /\ cometh with ten thousands of his saints," Saints are wife of Jesus. Usually, Israel is wife and the Church is the bride of Christ. Other Bible versions use Holy ones for Saints. Holy ones could be angels.

Enoch as a Prophet & Witness:

Genesis 5:24 "And Enoch walked with God: and he <was> not; for God took him."

Hebrews 11:5 "By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God."

Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints: Also angels/Holy ones

Zechariah 14:3-5 "Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. {4} And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which <is> before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, <and there shall be> a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. {5} And ye shall flee <to> the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, <and> all the saints with thee."

1 Thessalonians 3:13 "To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints."

2 Thessalonians 1:7 "And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,"

Revelation 19:7-8 "Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. {8} And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints."

Revelation 19:14 "And the armies <which were> in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean."

WHY: [ UNGODLY ] DEEDS & SPEECHES AGAINST GOD

Jude 15 "To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are [ ungodly ] among them of all their [ ungodly ] deeds which they have [ ungodly ] committed, and of all their hard <speeches> which [ ungodly ] sinners have spoken against M him M."

Judgment:

See my paper: "Judgments of Believer & Unbeliever" for more information on this subject.

Ungodly: Used 4 times to emphasize false teacher's condemnation.

Jude 16 "These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling <words>, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage."

2 Peter 2:18-19 "For when they speak great swelling <words> of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, <through much> wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. {19} While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage." False teachers allure through lust.

Complainers, walking after their own lust:

Romans 6:16 "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" Self flatter's

IV) KEEPING YOURSELVES IN FAITH BY PRAY, LOVE, & CHRISTIAN ACTS: {JUDE 17-23}

Jude 17 "But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our /\ Lord /\ M Jesus M T Christ T;" Prophesying.

WHEN: LAST TIME

Jude 18 "How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own [ ungodly ] lusts."

2 Peter 3:3-4 "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, {4} And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as <they were> from the beginning of the creation."

Last days:

2 Timothy 3:1-2,5 "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. {2} For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, {5} Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."

Godly form: Outside disciple & religion. No true heart change.

Power: Faith from completed work of Jesus. Holy Spirit Baptism.

Acts 20:29-30 "For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. {30} Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them."

They have departed from the faith & have falling into apostate sin:

Jude 19 "These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the /\ [ Spirit ] /\."

2 Peter 2:20-22 "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. {21} For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known <it>, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. {22} But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog <is> turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire."

Sensual, having not the Spirit:

Romans 8:9 "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."

1 Timothy 4:1-2 "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; {2} Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;"

God wants you to combat these:

2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All scripture <is> given by inspiration of God, and <is> profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: {17} That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."
