This paper discusses the book of Ephesians. Ephesians' is the first of Paul's prison epistles with Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon being the others. They were written during his imprisonment in 61 AD. God reveals his mystery in Ephesians: the church. All scriptures are from the King James' version Bible.

SCRIPTURE REFERENCES

Acts 18:19  "And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews. {20} When they desired him to tarry longer time with them, he consented not; {21} But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus."

Acts 19:1-6, "And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, {2} He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. {3} And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. {4} Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. {5} When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. {6} And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, & prophesied."

Acts 19:8-13, 17-19, 26, 34  "And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. {9} But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus. {10} And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks. {11} And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: {12} So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them. {13} Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. {17} And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. {18} And many that believed came, and confessed, and showed their deeds. {19} Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. {26} Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands: {34} But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians."

Acts 20:16-18  "For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost. {17} And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church. {18} And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,"

Revelation 2:1-6  "Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks {2} I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: {3} And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. {4} Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. {5} Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. {6} But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate."

LOCATION

Ephesus: An important Roman city in western Asia minor, now Turkey. The city had a major banking area and had the temple of Antemis (Diana: the bright one). It was a magnificent structure ranked as one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.  The figure also was on the Roman coins.

In Revelation 2:1-2:7 Jesus said they lost their first love. Their have done good also: works, labor, patience, not faint, can not bear evil men, hate Nicolatitians & tried apostles who are fakes. God told them to repent & do 1st works, they eat of tree of life in midst of paradise of God; or he remove candlestick.

WHO: PAUL IS THE AUTHOR & WRITTEN TO WHOM: SAINTS AT EPHESUS

Ephesians 1:1 "Paul, an apostle of M Jesus M T Christ T by the will of /\ God /\, to the [ saints ] which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in T Christ T M Jesus M :"

Paul: Saul: means asked for, and Paul: means little or small. Paul is in Rome in prison, but his care for the church is of most importances. He does believe he will leave the prison as he said that he be coming to them in Philemon 22 & Philippians 1:26 & 2:24. Paul had never been in Colosse and on his fourth missionary journey he finally went there. Paul had been to Ephesus a few times and spent two years there (Acts 19:10) on his third missionary journey.

Apostle: An Apostle is one sent by God, with power of attorney and authority, to act (with power) in place of sender. He was chosen and ordained to the position to be a witness of what God shows him.

See my paper: "Apostles" for more information on this subject.

Apostles started many churches and appointed Elders to the church.

Sent by God -

Ephesians 1:2 "[ Grace ] <be> to you, and [ peace ], from /\ God /\ our /\ Father /\, and <from> the /\ Lord /\ M Jesus M T Christ T."

Grace: Getting what we do not deserve. It is a gift (Romans 5:15).

We are saved by grace (Acts 15:11). It is given freely by God (Psalms 84:11). Grace grows by knowledge of Jesus (2 Peter 3:18) & humility (James 4:6 & 1 Peter 5:5).

James 4:6 "But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble."

mercy: not getting what we deserve. It is not earned.

Titus 3:5 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;"

Peace: Hebrew word Shalom used for hello, good-bye & God bless you.

Only God gives peace to ones spirit of forgiveness & restoration.

Philippians 4:7 "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Peace the opposite to anxiety. Tranquillity & worry free.

God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: God is a Triunity. God can not be divided. Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit are the way the one God reveals himself. If one sees Jesus, he also sees the Father and the Holy Spirit at the same time since God can not be separated (Colossians 1:15). Jesus is perfect man and perfect God.

See my paper: "Triunity - Father, Son, & Holy Spirit" for more information on this subject.

John 14:9-10 "Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou <then>, Show us the Father? {10} Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

II) BELIEVER'S POSITION: CHOSEN, SEALED, SAVED, UNITED, EQUAL: {EPHESIANS 1:3-3:21}

A) CHOSEN AND SEALED: {EPHESIANS 1:3-23}

Chosen by God, not from any good in us (Psalms 14:1-3, Isaiah 53:6, 64:6, Romans 3:10-11) but of His grace to choose (Ephesians 2:8-9). He did not look down the ages to see who would understand or response to his grace since we are all equally sinners (Romans 3:9, James 2:10). It is not our works but of His will (Ephesians 1:4-5 also see the entire Romans 9 chapter). Man deserves death and hell with separation from God for his sins. God's love and grace has saved some. The saved will repent (change from sins), call upon the Lord (Ephesians 2:4-7). They will ask Jesus into their lives and believe (Acts 13:48).

Ephesians 1:3 "Blessed <be> the /\ God /\ and /\ Father /\ of our /\ Lord /\ M Jesus M T Christ T, /\ who /\ (1) hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly <places> in T Christ T:" Every blessing is in Christ:

Hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly <places> in Christ:  See 3:10 for KEY WORD:  HEAVEN

Philippians 3:20 "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:"

Colossians 3:1-2 "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. {2} Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth."

See my paper: ”Entry Into the Holy of Holies” for more information on this subject.

2 Thessalonians 2:13 "But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:"

We should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Ephesians 5:27  "That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish."

Colossians 1:22 "In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:"

Ephesians 1:5 "Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by M Jesus M T Christ T to /\ himself /\ , according to the good pleasure of /\ his /\ will,"

Predestinated: God's eternal plan by which all things are completed.  The predestinated plan established and foreordained or foreknowledge what will come to pass.

Romans 8:29-30  "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. {30} Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."

Acts 2:23 "Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:"

Ephesians 2:10 "For we are /\ his /\ workmanship, created in T Christ T M Jesus M unto good works, which /\ God /\ hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them: God has appointed works for us to do. We should desire his gifts for our life & the works will follow those gifts (1 Corinthians 12/14). We should be led by His Spirit (Galatians 5:16-26) and the works he assigned will flow. If we go after other works, we may not be in his will (Matthew 5:16, Titus 2:7, 1 Peter 2:12).

John 15:5 "I am the vine, ye <are> the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

John 15:16 "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and <that> your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you."

James 2:17 "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone."

C) UNITED IN ONE BODY: {EPHESIANS 2:11-22}

WHEN: IN TIME PAST GENTILES IN THE FLESH

Ephesians 2:11 "Wherefore remember, that ye <being> in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is [ called ] the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;"

Circumcision in the flesh made by hands: Jewish circumcision of baby.

Genesis 21:4 "And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him." Commandment of God to Jews.

Colossians 2:11 "In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:"

WHEN: AT THAT TIME YE WERE WITHOUT CHRIST

Ephesians 2:12 "That at that time ye were without T Christ T, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no [ hope ], and without /\ God /\ in the world:" All the promises from God were to Israel & the Jews.

Aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

See my paper: "Israel & Jewish People in God's Plan" for more information on this subject.

Matthew 15:24 "But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

John 4:22 "Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews."

WAY: YE WHO SOMETIMES WERE FAR OFF ARE MADE NIGH BY THE BLOOD

Ephesians 2:13 "But now in T Christ T M Jesus M ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of T Christ T." nigh = near.  The death of Jesus has changed everything at God’s perfect time.

WHEN: BUT NOW

NEW SUBJECT:

WHAT: WHO HATH MADE BOTH ONE & HATH BROKEN DOWN THE .. WALL .. BETWEEN US

Ephesians 2:14 "For /\ he /\ is our [ peace ], /\ who /\ hath made both [ One ], and hath broken down the middle wall of partition <between us>;"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

KEY WORD: [ PEACE ] {EPHESIANS 1:2-6:23}

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1) Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. {Ephesians 1:2}

(2) For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; {Ephesians 2:14}

(5) Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. {Ephesians 4:3}

(6) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; {Ephesians 6:15}

(7) Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. {Ephesians 6:23}

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Who hath made both one..broken down the middle wall of partition:

A low wall or gate with many entry ways.  It exist somewhere near the temple which the gentile were not allowed to cross, under penalty of death.

1 Corinthians 12:13 "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether <we be> Jews or Gentiles, whether <we be> bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit."

Ephesians 2:15 "Having abolished in T his T flesh the enmity, <even> the law of commandments <contained> in ordinances; for to make in /\ himself /\ of twain [ One ] new man, <so> making [ peace ];"

Abolished in his flesh the enmity.law of commandments.in ordinances

See my paper: "What Does God Really Want?" for more information on this subject.

Galatians 4:4 "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman made under the law,"

Colossians 2:14 "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;"

Hebrews 2:14 "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;"

WHY: RECONCILE BOTH UNTO GOD IN ONE BODY WAY: HAVING SLAIN THE ENMITY

Ephesians 2:16 "And that /\ he /\ might reconcile both unto /\ God /\ in [ One ] [ body ] by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:"

Reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross: His body is the church {1:23}.

Colossians 1:20 "And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, <I say>, whether <they be> things in earth, or things in heaven."

Colossians 1:22 "In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:"

See my paper: "Salvation Biblical Word Glossary" for more information on this subject.

Ephesians 2:17 "And came and preached [ peace ] to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh."

One Spirit unto the Father:

See my paper: "Triunity - Father, Son, & Holy Spirit" for more information on this subject.

See my paper: "Godhead Relationship" for more information on this subject.

[ CONCLUSION ] THEREFORE

Ephesians 2:19 "Now [ therefore ] ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the [ saints ], and of the household of /\ God /\;" Now that you are saved.

Ephesians 2:20 "And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, M Jesus M T Christ T M himself M being the chief corner <stone>;"

Built upon the foundation of the apostles & prophets:

1 Corinthians 3:10-11 "According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. {11} For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."

See my paper: "Apostles" for more information on this subject.

Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone: Temple is equated to Jesus as Lord. He is the head of the Church and directs its members. We as Christians are part of his body.

Isaiah 28:16 "Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner <stone>, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste"

1 Peter 2:4-8 "To whom coming, <as unto> a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, <and> precious, {5} Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. {8} Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. {7} Unto you therefore which believe <he is> precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, {8} And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, <even to them> which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed."

Ephesians 2:21 "In M whom M all the building fitly framed [ Together ] groweth unto an holy temple in the /\ Lord /\:" As part of Jesus body you are made holy.

Ephesians 2:22 "In M whom M ye also are builded [ Together ] for an habitation of /\ God /\ through the /\ [ Spirit ] /\." Built together in the Triunity Godhead of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

D) EQUALS IN THE ONE BODY - JEW & GENTILE: {EPHESIANS 3:1-21}

WHO: I PAUL WHOM: FOR YOU GENTILE

Ephesians 3:1 "For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of M Jesus M T Christ T for you Gentiles, "Gentile = non Jew. Judaism was way to God.

Prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles: See apostle Ephesians 1:1 Paul is under house arrest. Also see Ephesians 4:1 for prisoner.

2 Timothy 1:8 "Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;"

Ephesians 3:2 "If ye have heard of the dispensation of the [ grace ] of /\ God /\ which is given me to you-ward:"

Dispensation of the grace: Dispensation = period of time of plan of grace that started with Jesus resurrection has changed in 1967 (Israel controls Jerusalem) to dispensation plan for Israel.

See my paper: "God's Plan and Purpose for the Ages" for more information on this subject.

See my paper: ”God’s Dispensation & Covenant Plans:” for more information on this subject.

Luke 21:24 "And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled."

Romans 11:25-26 "For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. {26} And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:"

Ephesians 3:3 "How that by revelation /\ he /\ made known unto me the [ mystery ]; (as I wrote afore in few words," Mystery Gentiles and Jews = one in Christ

By revelation he made known unto me the mystery: See Ephesians 1:9

Several mysteries are presented: Ephesians 3:6 (Jews & gentiles as one body) & Ephesians 5:31-32 (wives & husbands as one. Also Jesus & church as one). Mystery is an unknown until God reveals it.

Romans 16:25 "Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,"

Colossians 1:26-27 "<Even> the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: {27} To whom God would make known what <is> the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:"

Ephesians 3:4 "Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the [ mystery ] of T Christ T)" God revealed it to Paul and then to the Christians.

WHEN: OTHER AGES - NOW REVEALED

Ephesians 3:5 "Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto /\ his /\ holy apostles and prophets by the /\ [ Spirit ] /\;" Other ages = before Christ death.

WHAT: THAT THE GENTILE SHOULD BE FELLOW-HEIRS

Ephesians 3:6 "That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same [ body ], & partakers of /\ his /\ promise in T Christ T by the gospel"

Gentiles should be fellowheirs..partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: This union is the church. This was not shown in the Old Testament where Gentiles became Jews to be followers of God.  Now the Gentiles should be saved and joint heirs with Jews in the joint body of Christ.

Isaiah 11:10 "And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious."

Psalms 2:8 "Ask of me, and I shall give <thee> the heathen <for> thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth <for> thy possession."

Acts 26:18 "To open their eyes, <and> to turn <them> from darkness to light, and <from> the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me."

Romans 15:9-12 "And that the Gentiles might glorify God for <his> mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name. {10} And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. {11} And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people. {12} And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust."

See my paper: "True Gospel for Salvation by the Imputed Righteousness of Jesus" for more information on this subject.

Ephesians 3:7 "Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the [ grace ] of /\ God /\ given unto me by the effectual working of /\ his /\ [ power ]." Paul’s ministry is to the Gentiles.

See my paper: "Holy Spirit Baptism" for more information on this subject.

Ephesians 3:8 "Unto me, who am less than the least of all [ saints ], is this [ grace ] given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable [ Riches ] of T Christ T;"

Unto me, who am less than the least of all the saints:

1 Corinthians 15:9 "For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God."

1 Timothy 1:15 "This <is> a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief."

Ephesians 3:9 "And to make all <men> see what <is> the fellowship of the [ mystery ], which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in /\ God /\, /\ who /\ created all things by M Jesus M T Christ T:"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

KEY WORD: [ HEAVENLY ] {EPHESIANS 1:3-6:9}

(6) Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, {Ephesians 3:15}

(7) He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) {Ephesians 4:10}

(8) And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him. {Ephesians 6:9}

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WHY: PRINCIPALITIES & POWERS IN HEAVENLY PLACES KNOW THE WISDOM OF GOD

Ephesians 3:10 "To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in [ heavenly ] <places> might be known by the [ church ] the manifold wisdom of /\ God /\,"

Intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places: Principalities see Ephesians 1:21. Heavenly see Ephesians 1:3

John 3:12  "If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?"

See my paper: "In Christ" for more information on this subject.

Ephesians 3:18 "May be able to comprehend with all [ saints ] what <is> the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;"

Comprehend with all saints the breadth, length, depth, and height:

Psalms 145:3 "Great <is> the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness <is> unsearchable."

1 John 3:1 "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not."

Ephesians 3:19 "And to know the [ love ] of T Christ T, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of /\ God /\."

Ye might be filled with all the fulness of God: Also John 14:17-23

III) BELIEVER'S LIFE TO: SAVED, GIFTS, LIFE, EVIL, SPIRIT, HOME {EPHESIANS 4:1-6:20}

A) BELIEVER'S LIFE TO OTHER BELIEVERS - SAVED ONES: {EPHESIANS 4:1-6}

[ CONCLUSION ] THEREFORE

Ephesians 4:1 "I [ therefore ], the prisoner of the /\ Lord /\, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are [ called ],"

Ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called: God gives each Christian gifts and ministries. We are to seek our calling or vocation & God will bless us in our ministry (His ministry for us).

Romans 12:4-5 "For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: {5} So we, <being> many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another."

1 Corinthians 12:4-7 "Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. {5} And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. {6} And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. {7} But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal."

Ephesians 2:10  "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

See my paper: "What as Jesus Walked" for more information on this subject.

See my paper: "Holy Spirit Baptism" for more information on this subject.

Ephesians 4:2 "With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing [ One ] another in [ love ];"Lowliness = humility; longsuffering = patience; & meekness = gentleness

Walk worthy with lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, love:

Colossians 3:12-14 "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; {13} Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also <do> ye. {14} And above all these things <put on> charity, which is the bond of perfectness."

See my paper: "Love" for more information on this subject.

Ephesians 4:3 "Endeavouring to keep the unity of the /\ [ Spirit ] /\ in the bond of [ peace ]."

Ephesians 4:4 "<There is> [ One ] [ body ], and one /\ [ Spirit ] /\, even as ye are [ called ] in [ One ] [ hope ] of your [ called ];"

Ephesians 4:5 "[ One ] /\ Lord /\, one [ faith ], one baptism,"

1 body, 1 Spirit, 1 hope, 1 Lord, 1 faith, 1 baptism, 1 God & Father:

These scriptures are teaching unity. This does not mean there is only one baptism. There are many bodies, churches, but only one true body, hope, calling, Lord, faith, baptism: those in Jesus.

John 17:22-23 "And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: {23} I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me."

1 Corinthians 1:10  "Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."

1 Corinthians 12:12-13  "For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. {13} For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit."

Ephesians 5:31-32 "For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. {32} This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Hebrews 6:2  "Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment."

See my paper: "Apostles Baptism" for more information on this subject.

See my paper: ”Many Baptisms Presented in the Bible:”  for more information on this subject.

Ephesians 4:6 "[ One ] /\ God /\ and /\ Father /\ of all, /\ who /\ <is> above all, and through all, and in you all." Also see God the Father Ephesians 1:2

One God & Father: Jesus & Christian (John 20:17), Israel (Ex. 4:22)

1 Corinthians 8:6  "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him."

See my paper: "Triunity - Father, Son, & Holy Spirit" for more information on this subject.

B) BELIEVER'S LIFE TO SPIRITUAL GIFTS: {EPHESIANS 4:7-16}

WAY: EVERY ONE GIVEN GRACE TO MEASURE OF GIFT OF CHRIST

Ephesians 4:7 "But unto every [ One ] of us is given [ grace ] according to the measure of the gift of T Christ T." See grace in Ephesians 1:2

Every one is given grace according to measure of the gift of Christ

See my paper: "Grace" for more information on this subject.

Grace is apportioned given as all things are gifts by God. It grows after, by our humility and our knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.

Proverbs 3:34 "Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly."

Romans 12:3  "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith."

James 4:6 "But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble."

1 Peter 5:5 "Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all <of you> be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble."

2 Peter 1:2 "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,"

Ephesians 4:8 "Wherefore M he M saith, WhenM he M ascended up on high, M he M led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men."

Ephesians 4:9 "(Now that M he M ascended, what is it but that M he M also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?"

He ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, & gift of Christ, He that descended is the same also that ascended:

Psalms 68:18 "Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, <for> the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell <among them>."

Proverbs 30:4 "Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what <is> his name, and what <is> his son's name, if thou canst tell?"

John 3:13 "And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, <even> the Son of man which is in heaven."

See my paper: "Between Jesus Death & Resurrection What did He Accomplish?" for more information on this subject.

Ephesians 4:10 "M He M that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that M he M might fill all things.)"

He that descended is the same also that ascended:

1 Peter 3:18-20  "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: {19} By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; {20} Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water."
