All scriptures are from the King James' version Bible.

DANIEL IS BOOK'S AUTHOR: Daniel (His name means God is my judge). His Babylonian name became Belteshazzar (after Babylonian deities, meaning: Bel protect his life). He was an example of righteousness by Ezekiel a contemporary Bible book author about 595 BC. Some people who do not agree that God can foretell the future, in details, as shown in the book of Daniel believe that Daniel was written during Maccabeus period of ~166 BC. The Septuagint version of the Old Testament Bible, written in Greek, in 285 BC & included the book of Daniel.
Daniel 2:48 "Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise <men> of Babylon." Daniel given Babylonian leadership.
Daniel 9:2 "In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem." First person authorship.
Daniel 10:2 "In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks." First person authorship.
Daniel 12:4 "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased."
Jesus concurred with Daniel as author in:
Matthew 24:15 "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)" Jesus can't lie.
Mark 13:14 "But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:" Daniel 9:27/11:31/12:11
DANIEL'S HISTORY:
Daniel of noble birth: King's seed and princes in Daniel 1:3
Daniel referred to as righteous by his contemporary Ezekiel:
See my paper: "True Gospel for Salvation by the Imputed Righteousness of Jesus" for more information on this subject.
See my paper: "Imputed/Reckoned/Counted Righteousness of Jesus" for more information on this subject.
Ezekiel 14:14, 20 "Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD. {20} Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness."
Ezekiel 28:3 "Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:" Ezekiel was a contemporary of Daniel who also went into the Babylonian captivity.
Daniel is giving the title of Greatly Beloved: Daniel 9:23, 10:11 & 10:19 like the apostle John.
John 19:26 "When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!" God also used this title with his disciple John.
See my paper: "Disciples & Others of Jesus Family" for more information on this subject.
DANIEL'S CAN BE COMPARED WITH JOSEPH:
Daniel's similarities to Joseph career as both are captive youth, model young men, persecuted for their pure lives, finding service to kings, and rising to the highest position in these gentile nations. Daniel is a statesman & prophet like Moses, without Moses' miracles, but foreseeing future events.

JUDAH / ISRAEL UNDER GENTILE CONTROL:
Their sin:
Jeremiah 17:27 "But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched."
Jeremiah 25:8-9 "Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words, {9} Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations."
Overthrow of Jerusalem:
Jeremiah 25:9-12 "Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations. {10} Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle. {11} And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. {12} And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations."
TIMES OF THE GENTILES: Gentile control over Israel & Jerusalem:
Start: 606 BC - Complete: 1967 AD (Luke 21:24) or when Jesus is on His Jerusalem throne.
The period of time when Israel, Jerusalem, & the temple are not completely under Jewish control.
2 Chronicles 36:5-7 "Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God. {6} Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon. {7} Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon." Possible start of times of Gentiles
Luke 21:24 "And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled." Possible end to the times of Gentiles in 1967 when Jerusalem was won back by Israel..
Acts 15:12-17 "Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them. {13} And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me: {14} Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name. {15} And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, {16} After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: {17} That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things."Isaiah 49:6 Tell us that God uses the Jewish believers to show the truth of God to gentiles.
Romans 11:25 "For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in." This is not the same as the time of Gentile be fulfilled in Luke 21:24.
I) DANIEL'S LIFE & HISTORY EXPERIENCES: {1:1-21}
WHEN: 3RD YEAR OF JEHOIAKIM
Daniel 1:1 "In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it."
Jehoiakim king of Judah: Evil king of Judah
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon: Ruled most of the know world at that time.
The Assyrians took Israel's Jewish people captives in 721 BC to foreign lands and bring foreign people to Israel. This started the Samaritans community. This followed three stages, during which the Babylonians took the Judah Jewish people captive and removed them to foreign lands. Babylonians took the Judah Jews in 605 BC (Daniel, ETC.) to Babylon, in 597 BC (Ezekiel) to Babylon, & in 586 BC Babylonians captured Judah & destroyed the temple. Likewise three stages of Jewish people returned to Judah with the first occurring in 538 BC under Zerubbabel (Joshua is priest) to rebuild the temple (see Ezra 1-6). The second temple was rebuilt between 538-515. The second return in 458 BC occurred under Ezra to restore the Jewish community of faith (see Ezra 7-10). The third return occurred in 444 BC under Nehemiah to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem and the city (see Nehemiah 1-6) which started Daniel's 9:24-27 seventy weeks prophecy. The Jewish community in Jerusalem is discussed in Nehemiah 7-13.
Jeremiah 27:5-7 "I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me. {6} And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him. {7} And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him."
Jeremiah 50:17-18 "Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones. {18} Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria."
Daniel 1:2 "And the /\ Lord /\ gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of /\ God /\: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god."
Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand: Due to the sins of Judah.

WAY: PROVE THY SERVANTS IN 10 DAYS BY GIVING US PULSE TO EAT
Daniel 1:12 "Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink."Pulse is vegetables, nuts, and grains grown from seeds. See Leviticus chap 11.
Prove thy servants .. Ten days .. Countenance better: Look at their countenance.
See my papers: "Faith" for more information on this subject.
Daniel 1:13 "Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants."
Daniel 1:14 "So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days."
C) DELIVERANCE OF FAITH: {1:15-16} PROVED BY COUNTENANCES
WHAT: DANIEL'S COUNTENANCE APPEARS FAIRER THAN OTHERS
Daniel 1:15 "And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat."
Daniel 1:16 "Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse."
Melzar took away the portion of their meat: Man in charge of Daniel allowed the test.
D) REWARD OF FAITH: {1:17-21} 10 TIMES BETTER WISDOM, ETC.
WHAT: GOD GAVE KNOWLEDGE, WISDOM, DANIEL UNDERSTAND DREAMS
Daniel 1:17 "As for these four children, /\ God /\ gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all [ visions ] and [ dreams ]." God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom even Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams: Better learning because God gave them the understanding and wisdom.
Daniel 1:18 "Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar." End of days = three years.
WAIT: DANIEL, FRIENDS ABOVE ALL OTHERS
Daniel 1:19 "And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king."
CONCLUSION: THEREFORE
Among them all was found none like .. they before the king: God's sovereignty to Hebrews.
DANIEL'S COMPARISONS WITH JOSEPH:
| DANIEL: | COMPARISONS: | JOSEPH: |
| Daniel 1:19 | INTERPRETED DREAMS | Genesis 40:8, 41:15 |
WHAT: IN WISDOM, UNDERSTANDING, 10 TIMES BETTER THAN ALL REALM
Daniel 1:20 "And in all matters of wisdom <and> understanding, that the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians <and> astrologers that <were> in all his realm."
All matters of wisdom & understanding: God provides to whomever He wishes such gifts.
DANIEL'S COMPARISONS WITH JOSEPH:
| DANIEL: | COMPARISONS: | JOSEPH: |
| Daniel 1:20-21 | ASCENDED TO LEADERSHIP | Genesis 41:40 |
Daniel 1:21 "And Daniel continued <even> unto the first year of king Cyrus."
Daniel continued <even> unto king Cyrus: 60 + years of leadership with 4 separate kings
II) NEBUCHADNEZZAR'S VISION & INTERPRETATION: {2:1-49}
WHEN: SECOND YEAR OF NEBUCHADNEZZAR
Daniel 2:1 "And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar [ dreamed ] [ dreams ], wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him."
Reign of Nebuchadnezzar who had dreams: First dream for Daniel to interpret by God's help.
Daniel 2:2 "Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to show the king his [ dreams ] . So they came and stood before the king."
Astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans: Forbidden in Judaism
Exodus 7:11 "Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments." Other nations have the same method.
Daniel 2:3 "And the king said unto them, I have [ dreamed] a [ dream ], and my spirit was troubled to know the [ dream ] ."
Daniel 2:4 "Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the [ dream ], and we will show the [ interpretation ]."
Daniel is written in both Hebrew and Aramaic. The Aramaic starts here and continues to 7:28.
Daniel 2:5 "The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the [ dream ], with the [ interpretation ] thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill."
Ye shall be cut in pieces: See Daniel 3:29
1 Samuel 15:33 "And Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal."
Psalms 58:7 "Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces."
Daniel 2:6 "But if ye show the [ dream ], and the [ interpretation ] thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore show me the dream, and the [ interpretation ] thereof."
Daniel 2:7 "They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the [ dream ], and we will show the [ interpretation ] of it."
Daniel 2:8 "The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me."
Daniel 2:9 "But if ye will not make known unto me the [ dream ], <there is but> one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the [ dream ], and I shall know that ye can show me the [ interpretation ] thereof."
Tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can show me the interpretation thereof:
Daniel both tells the dream and gives the interpretation by the power of God.
Daniel 2:10 "The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can show the king's matter: therefore <there is> no king, lord, nor ruler, <that> asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean."
Daniel 2:11 "And <it is> a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can show it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh."
There is not a man upon the earth that can show the king's matter .. except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh:
Daniel 5:11 "There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;"
1 Corinthians 8:5-6 "For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) {6} But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him."
Daniel 2:12 "For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise <men> of Babylon."
This cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise <men> of Babylon: All includes Daniel and his three friends.
A) TEST OF FAITH: {2:13} WISE MAN SLAIN IF CAN'T TELL DREAM
Daniel 2:13 "And the decree went forth that the wise <men> should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain."
DANIEL COMPARISONS WITH JOSEPH:
| DANIEL: | COMPARISONS: | JOSEPH: |
| Daniel 2:13 | UNJUSTLY PERSECUTED | Genesis 39:20 |
Daniel 2:14 "Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king's guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise <men> of Babylon:"
Daniel 2:15 "He answered and said to Arioch the king's captain, Why <is> the decree <so> hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel."
B) CONFESSION OF FAITH: {2:16} DANIEL TELL DREAM/INTERPRET
WAIT: KING WOULD GIVE HIM TIME TO GET INTERPRETATION
Daniel 2:16 "Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would show the king the [ interpretation ]."
Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would show the king the interpretation:
See my paper: "Israel & Jewish People in God's Plan" for more information on this subject.
Daniel 2:17 "Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:" See Daniel 1:7, 2:49, & Daniel 3 for more information.
Daniel 2:18 "That they would desire mercies of the /\ God /\ of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise <men> of Babylon."
They would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret:
See my papers: "Prayer" for more information on this subject.
C) DELIVERANCE OF FAITH: {2:19, 27-45} GOD REVEALED SECRET
WAY: SECRETS REVEALED TO DANIEL IN A NIGHT VISION
Daniel 2:19 "Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night [ vision ]. Then Daniel blessed the /\ God /\ of heaven."
The secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven:
In general, dreams occurred at night and visions during the day.
Daniel 2:20 "Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of /\ God /\ for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:"
Daniel 2:21 "And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:"
God .. he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise .. He revealeth the deep and secret things:
Daniel 4:35 "And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?"
Daniel 7:25 "And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time." Time & times & half time is last 3 & half years
God is sovereign. He is in complete control of His creation.
WHAT: REVEALED THE DEEP & SECRET THINGS OF KINGS DREAM
Daniel 2:22 "He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what <is> in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him."
Daniel 2:23 "I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou /\ God /\ of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast <now> made known unto us the king's matter." WHERE: BABYLON
Daniel 2:24 "Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise <men> of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise <men> of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will show unto the king the [ interpretation ]."
Daniel 2:25 "Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the [ interpretation ]."
I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation: Daniel, by the grace of God, to both state the dream and gives its interpretation.
Daniel 2:26 "The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name <was> Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the [ dream ] which I have seen, and the [ interpretation ] thereof?"
WHO: DANIEL
Daniel 2:27 "Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise <men>, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, show unto the king;"
WHY: THERE IS A GOD IN HEAVEN THAT REVEALS SECRETS OF LATTER DAY
Daniel 2:28 "But there is a /\ God /\ in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the [ Latter days ]. Thy [ dream ], and the [ visions ] of thy head upon thy bed, are these;"
There is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king:
Genesis 40:8 "And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you."
See my papers: "Triunity - Father, Son, & Holy Spirit" for more information on this subject.

Genesis 49:1 "And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days."
See my paper: "Twelve Tribes Prophecies" for more information on this subject.
Daniel 2:29 "As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came <into thy mind> upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass."
Daniel 2:30 "But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for <any> wisdom that I have more than any living, but for <their> sakes that shall make known the [ interpretation ] to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart."
Daniel 2:31 "Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness <was> excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof <was> terrible."
O king, sawest, and behold a great image:
