Novice

Novice exercises are nothing more than basic control and manners. Any dog who has had a reasonable amount of training and respect for his/her owner should be able to garner a CD title.

Heeling. The dog walks by your left side - both on lead and off lead, and sits when you stop.

Stand for exam. You leave your dog in a stand, walk six feet away, and the judge pets the dog, then you return to your dog.

Recall.
You leavc the dog, walk across the ring, call the dog, and the dog comes and sits at your feet.

Group Exercises. The dog sits next to other dogs in the class for 1 minute while the handler stands across the ring. The down stay is for 3 minutes.
