About
the Detroit Council of Sports Car Clubs (DCSCC)
DCSCC ("the Council") is the governing body that runs the DCSCC Championship Autocross Series here in the Detroit area. Each year, 10 local autocrosses are designated as "Champ" events for competitors to vie for class championships and a team championship (like Formula 1 or CART). The autocrosses are sponsored by the individual clubs that comprise the Council. Those clubs are the Alfa Romeo Owners Club (AROC), Corvette Club of Michigan (CCM), Ford Motorsports Enthusiasts (FME), Michigan Sports Car Club (MSCC), Detroit Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), and the Volkswagen-Audi Gruppe (VAG). All of the members of the individual clubs are eligible to compete in the DCSCC Champ Series. The Champ Series gives competitors a consistent set of rules for competition and provides multiple events at which club members can compete against other cars in their class throughout the season. Council has 4 levels of preparation (stock, street-prepared, prepared, and modified). Individual class assignment of cars is based on the classifications of the SCCA Solo II rulebook, though the level of preparation allowed is different. DCSCC also runs street-tire classes for stock automobiles to encourage participation for novice drivers. See the DCSCC rulebook for details. To sign up for the DCSCC Champ Series or to register your DCSCC Champ Series Team, please contact Bill Mashinter (wmashint@ford.com, home: (248) 689-1384, work: (313) 323-9350). The cost is $5 and you get a DCSCC rulebook. All DCSCC events are held in the Detroit-Metro area. See you there! Andre
