I AM.

My name is Diana.
I AM 55.

I AM a menopausal woman who.
barely survived those unacknowledged perimenopausal years prior to menopause.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in the summer of 1991.
Ran away to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for five weeks and was
awed by the Total Solar Eclipse.

Mastectomy, left breast, December, 1991.

Mastectomy, right breast, April, 1997.

Art is my escape, my solace, my healing.

I AM fascinated with the interconnectedness of our "Dreams Door" and "Realities Door".

I AM a survivor!

A Path Taken

A path taken
Irretrievable.

Each day
Forged anew.

The future formed
Within the past.

This thought struck me while reading "Moira's Crossing", thinking about my daughter, my family, students I taught.  We each take paths we believe appropriate for the moment, then rue our choice.       Choices reflect who we are.  Become the person we are.   Affect those we love and care about.  Cannot
be undone.  Each day we can make new choices.  Tread new paths.  Or relive old habits.
