Penrod Monument at Pinetop Cemetery

Below are the words written on the monument.

William Lewis and Polly Ann Penrod with many of their descendants are buried here in this cemetery. William Penrod, as a boy crossed the plains to Utah with the Mormon Pioneers. In 1878, William and his wife Polly and their children came from Utah to help colonize this part of Arizona. They settled Northwest of Show Low and later in March 1887 moved their families here clearing the land and settled Pinetop. Their son Delbert Abraham and his wife Merintha Altheria donated this cemetery property after burying their fourth son here in 1902.
