Step by step guide to getting a podcast

There are three steps involved in setting up your personal computer to receive podcasts.

1. Get some podcast software if you need it

If you have Itunes or Quicktime for Apple and PC you are good to go. If not, you may have to download a piece of software to view video podcasts on your computer.

2. Add the address of the "feed" to your software

Once you have the software, choose the video or radio program that you would like automatically delivered to your computer every time there's a new show.

3. Start downloading

When a new show for your subscriptions becomes available your software will automatically download it. On completion you can listen to the mp3 on your pc or Apple or transfer it to your ipod player to listen or with the new Video Ipod to view later.

The software will automatically download any subsequent shows as soon as they are available.

As a general rule Channel 8 and ABC program files will be made available shortly after broadcast. In some cases this may be several hours.
