Key Projects

Well, I can't say this is my favorite part of my life.  While I was in school, I always expected to end up in academia upon graduation (see my biography for more on this).  Instead, I ended up cashing in on my analytical and computer skills and started to do various kinds of consulting in the database analysis and design fields.  For several years, I worked for a small consulting firm in north-central New Jersey.  I won't name our principal client except to say that it was a major telecommunications firm not unfamiliar to Scott Adams.  I grew rather unhappy with the amount of traveling (most of it on very short notice) which was starting to become the norm at that firm so, early in 1994, I went independent.

As it turns out, my very first client was a company so close to home and so pleasant to work for that when they offered me a permanent position, I grabbed it pretty quickly.  Unfortunately, the work grew increasingly dull and a number of those pleasant folks began to leave,  usually to be replaced by the management types that regularly populate Dilbert.  In the summer of 1998, I moved on to a Project Management position at a relatively new software development company.  It was far more challenging but when I began to voice my opinions about what was not working at the company and those opinions extended to the president's brother, things started growing unpleasant and so I left the following year.  After spending a VERY nasty winter cozily tucked up at home doing phone interviews from my hot-tub, I ended up at my current position early in 2000.  I've never worked harder nor had so much fun at any job!  It's also good to know that the president's brother doesn't work here!

If you're interested in the details, here's a chance to see my resume along with some synopses of specific projects I've done over the years.
