Having often heard various expression of the doctrine that the four Gospels of the Bible are not competing fables of the life of Christ, but Divinely inspired accounts which differ only because of such matters as style and viewpoint, it seemed to me that this could well be demonstrated by combining them into one account, a synthesis of the four Gospels, with some additional parallel passages illustrating the unity of the Bible as a whole. I have no degree in Theology or Bibliology, but those are not necessary exactly because the Gospels are not a complex mass of contradictions. I make no other claims for it than that it represents my own retelling of the gospel message. I do not claim it is the best arrangement, but as far as I can determine it is a viable one and illustrates in a new way the harmony of the Gospels. My hope is that this work will encourage others to further study of the Gospels, even if just from curiosity or doubt, or to produce an improved version, much in the same sentiment as Philippians 1:18.
