Pardon the mess, my web page is always in a state of continual improvement.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
For those who know, "Firefly" was a TV series created by Joss Whedon (better known for creating Buffy the Vampire Slayer). The series had a short run on FOX where it was cancelled after airing only 10 of the 14 episodes produced. Once cancelled, FOX finally got around to airing the 2 hour pilot which effectively introduces the 9 character ensemble cast. Many including the show's creator are of the opinion that the show was mis-handled by FOX from the very beginning.
Although efforts to find "Firefly" a new home on TV didn't pan out, a motion picture based on the TV series was produced and released to theaters in September of 2005 by Universal Pictures. Unfortunately, internet buzz and promotional efforts on the part of the loyal fans were not enough to offset the insurmountable odds of promoting a movie with no major star power during an ever increasing industry wide slump in movie ticket sales.
Fast forwarding to today... There are ongoing efforts to expose as many people to "Firefly" as is possible. While anymore live action continuations of the Firefly story are improbable at best, look for the story to contiue in other forms. Another comic book series similar to the one released prior to the movie to bridge the gap between the series and the movie is due out later this year. And in 2008, look for the universe to continue online as a MMORPG from Multiverse.
In the meantime, if you haven't yet experienced "Firefly" and "Serenity", both are currently available on DVD. Once you're hooked, recommend it others. Additionally, officially licensed "Firefly" and "Serenity" merchandise is available from the merchants listed below, please show your them your support.
