A new phase for Tridium, Bought by Honeywell, local software firm is in position to grow
"Fast-growing local company Tridium Inc. can expand its business now that it has been acquired by Honeywell International Inc. The Henrico County-based software development firm's core product is called the Niagara Framework. It takes machines or crucial home and office systems, regardless of manufacturer or technology, and makes them talk to one another, allowing operators to run the equipment from the Web."

Honeywell Has Acquired Tridium, ARC Advisory Group 11/30/2005
Honeywell announced that it has acquired Tridium, Inc., a privately held software-development company based in Richmond, Virginia, with subsidiaries in London and Singapore. Tridium will continue to operate as a separate business entity within Honeywell's Environmental and Combustion Controls (ECC) business. Financial terms were not disclosed. Tridium developed the Niagara Framework, a software framework that integrates diverse systems and devices from various manufacturers, communication protocols, and software. System integrators use Niagara to provide solutions supporting multiple protocols, products or technologies. Harry Forbes, ARC Advisory Group, commented, "Tridium's Niagara Framework is mainly deployed in building automation and energy management, however it has many attributes that are well suited for emerging industrial areas such as wireless sensor networks. In fact, Tridium recently integrated with wireless sensors from Dust Networks in an energy management application. Future wireless sensor applications in both buildings and plants will use the same device-level technologies; i.e. 802.11 (Wi-Fi) and 802.15.4 (ZigBee). In these applications wireless sensors can drive down installation costs immensely. Software solutions like the Niagara Framework can drive down the cost of enterprise integration, which is just as important for creating value from these new applications. This acquisition is very timely, and could serve multiple Honeywell businesses."

Duty, honor, country: Reflections on the highest calling... "If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace." --Thomas Paine Today is Veterans Day. It is appropriate that 11 November also commemorates the signing of the Mayflower Compact in 1620. That simple document, after all, is the taproot of a great nation; a shining beacon of liberty which owes its very existence to American veterans. from This week's The Federalist Patriot Digest "Top of the Fold"

Immanuel Baptist Church of Richmond, VA, Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort Status
Immanuel giving of more than $30,000 represents an outpouring of love and a heart of compassion. Here is a summary of what we have done thus far.
-- To CAM International (one of the mission agencies we currently support) we have sent $5,000 to help in bringing relief to victims and in sharing the good news of salvation. Some of these funds will be used to assist Hispanic churches that were severely damaged and encourage the families affected. See www.caminternational.org
-- To Operation Renewed Hope (operated by independent Baptist missionaries) we have sent $5,000 to help with getting supplies of good and water to those hardest hit in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. They have 6 tractor trailers on the road, and they are looking for work teams. See www.operationrenewedhope.org
-- To ALERT (a ministry under the umbrella of IBLP) we have sent $2,500 to support their work all along the Gulf Coast. They are assisting Friend Ships offloading near Gretna, Louisiana and then moving supplies into needy areas. See www.alertacademy.com
-- To the North American Mission Board (of the Southern Baptist Convention) we have sent $2,500 to provide meals for those who are displaced or homeless. This gift has been channeled through the National Christian Foundation who matched our gift making the total gift $5,000. See www.namb.net
-- To Grace Memorial Baptist Church of Slidell, Louisiana (just across the lake from New Orleans, we are sending a SAM's cash card for $1,000 to help them provide food and supplies for victims. The pastor of this church is the uncle of one of our members, Theresa Gillian. See www.discovergrace.us and From hugs to clothing, evacuees heartened at relief center.
-- We have also provide a gift of $200 for the Hanover Juvenile Detention Center to buy backpacks so that those young people can fill them with supplies and send them to young people in the affected area. Dick Justice and Pete Dollings of our church work with these youths.
We are also considering helping some individual families, adopting a church in the devastated region, and sending work teams to help rebuild. If you are interested in the latter of these, please let us know. God bless you for your concern and investment in the lives of others.   Immanuel Baptist Church

Joey Wahlquist (2002) and David Wahlquist (2004) participated in a Mission trip
Joey Wahlquist (2002) and David Wahlquist (2004) participated in a Mission trip during Spring Break to Juarez, Mexico. Joey was on the Evangelism team and David on the Drama team. They worked closely with an established church in Juarez who coordinated their outreach into the city. The highlight of the trip for both Joey and David was seeing the mighty things God was doing, and each had the privilege of leading people to Christ. Over 1,000 people said they received Jesus as their Savior and follow-up by the church will ensure that they understood what they were doing. Please pray for these new believers.
