New England Free Flight Meets
~
This is to be a list of New England (and environs) Free Flight meets. I need your help though. Let me know what's going on. And no doubt there are errors here.

If things get grim and quiet, I'll be reduced to trying to figure it all out from the AMA magazine, which will produce a whole another level of confustulation, to say nothing of ruining my eyes and cerebral cortex trying to figure out all those itty bitty numbers. And then there are many fun things that the AMA doesn't publish.

I'll post notes of interest, especially if I get them already cyberized

GLASTONBURY AREA MODELERS

The Glastonbury Area Modelers - aka Glastonbury Aeromodelers - is/are a Free Flight club located in Connecticut.. In the summer we fly Flying Aces style in the original Pinkham Field. In the winter we fly in the Glastonbury Hi Skool Gym - two FAC style contests and many open gym fun flies. All the meets are very low key and while much of the flying is of a very high quality, many folks are duffers like myself having a good time. Children and spectators are welcome.

As far as I know this is the original FAC club.  Dave Stott and Bob Thompson, the originators of the Flying Aces concept, still fly with us.

Everyone is welcome to attend

To find out the schedule and lots more good stuff, head on off to the GLASTONBURY  HOMEPAGE (CLICK)

I'm really happy to post and plug this. Not only does Jerry stock kits and glue and all the stuff you'd expect, Balsa - Batteries -  Kits -  Engines and motors - Glue -  Knives  Books & Plans but he carries the good unexpected stuff like blue blades, machined props, the skinny pins, and the 1/64" wood. He appears at some of the meets with all the goodies. But the real trip is to visit him in Simsbury. His shop is amazing.  Just like it should be.

It is located one-half mile west of Route 20 on the left side of Walnut Hill Road in beautiful downtown East Hartland, CT.

It is 12.5 miles and 27 minutes from Bradley International Airport. Any interested folks should contact Jerry when planning a visit.
