I think I'm in love. I found this sweety in a MAP book "Design for Aeromodellers" I must know more.
The caption under the postage stamp sized fuzzy pic reads..."Minerva is an old A.P.S. favorite plan and remain as one of the few popular biplanes." That's it.
I don't think it's X-list. At least I couldn't find it on the web. So I bought a plan from John Pond.
Paul Kramer sent me a copy of the article from Oct 41 Aeromodeller.. J.E. Fraser is the designer. Does anyone know more about him?
I am posting the plans that came with the article. Please excuse the ocassional smudgitude. The background of the plans was a pretty grey. Very nice- but it ups the file size in an astounding manner. I did the best I could to eliminate it. As usual you will have to enlarge them yourself.
The design is one of those complex old British jobs with odd plug in wings (and fillets), a free wheeler in the spinner, hardwood all over, &c. But maybe I'm ready for this.
It's big -38" span- and despite a lot of wood, it doesn't look like it will withstand serious crackups with aplomb.
Of course there is no rule that says I have to enter it as an Old Timer
so maybe I'll make a mini simplified version and fly it as an FAC Embryo.
