"Dannysoars First Ever Twin Pusher E mail/ Postal Contest" Page is dead!
Long live "Twin Pushers and Other Free Flight Oddities"!

Some Twin Pushers
I've successfully flown a bunch of Burnhams, a bunch of Joe Ott Cloud Chasers, a Guth,  a Butler , a couple of  Motts modified for indoors and a free lance Symphony of Ovals. On this page I'm putting pix etc. of Twin Pushers I have built. I hope to post links to 3vus of some of these.

The Butler
The Butler is kind of a curiosity. I found it in the 1937 Zaic Book as an example of "how far we had come" since 1912(?). I built a balsa one. The dragonfly wing is distinctive and pretty in the air. But it is not a contest winner. Mine will put in 2+ min flights all day though.  I substituted balsa and tissue for the spruce, reed, bamboo and "rubberized fabric  imported from England" that was used in 1912.  . I have had some bother with flutter on the trailing edge of the wing. Build a strong trailing edge and affix the wing with powerful rubber bands

I have posted a plan in the Twin Pusher plan section .

If you have any interest in old models you should buy the Zaic books.

The Don Burnham
The Burnhams are perhaps the most often built SAM twin pusher. It is a fine example of a late journeyman twin pusher .It is more "manly'' than some of the single surface Twin Pushers I tend to mass produce, with a covered under camber, real spars etc. .They fly well and Aerodyne carries the excellent plan that Jim Noonan used to include in a kit. 32" span.- Aerodyne 1924 Edinger Santa Ana CA 92705 714-258-0805 - He's good people and carries quite a few plans for different twin pushers. Plus most anything you'd need.

The Symphony of Ovals
This is my SYMPHONY OF OVALS. A 20" span free lance Twin Pusher for the 3rd millennium. I built it to the local 20" stick model event rules. I have yet to fly it in competition. It flies OK. It isn't as laterally stable as I would like. But it looks different and pretty in the air. There never were any plans.

The Joe Ott Cloud Chaser
The Joe Ott Cloud Chaser is smaller than most- 28" span(?) They are single surfaced and build very quick. I replace the bamboo tips with laminated balsa ones. Or the National Free Flight Association can send you full sized plans for 6 bux cheap http://www.mmb.com/nffs/plans.htm#otr . None of these show the dihedral of the canard. I use 2" and it works fine.

The Guth
The Guth is a large over the top twin pusher. It is very light and flimsy. In a wind, I found it difficult  to operate without it breaking something. But is capable of some amazing times. I was getting very close to six minutes in evening air, when it flew away.
