QCSC DAS SYSTEM BACKGROUND and FAQs

The QCSC DAS SYSTEM is the same type of data acquisition system that has been used by scientist, engineers, physicist, the medical profession, the aerospace industry and the research community for years. Computer based, multi-channel, high speed data acquisition has long been the choice of these professionals because computer based systems allow the test engineer to both document and review test results.

The QCSC DAS SYSTEM is a high speed, 8 channel, digital storage data acquisition system that will allow your technicians to test up to 8 computer related circuits at the same time. Many times per second, the QCSC DAS SYSTEM can sample and hold input signals, injector pulses, and ignition firings, and display the waveforms. The maximum refresh-display-update rate is affected by the speed of your PC. These waveforms can be reviewed, analyzed and saved for documentation purposes.

What can it troubleshoot?
All 12v primary and computer related circuits and the secondary. The QCSC DAS SYSTEM can test map, maf, knock, oxygen, tps, coolant, air temp, vacuum, wheel speed, crankshaft and camshaft sensors. It will also test ignition components, fuel injectors, MC solenoids, stepper motors and other computer based outputs. It works with all makes and models.

What was it ideally designed to do?
Capture, display, store, analyze and print waveforms generated by the electronic engine control, braking systems, etc. The scope patterns generated by the QCSC DAS SYSTEM can be analyzed for voltage levels, frequency, pulse width, duty cycle, rpm and 'degrees offset'.

Who was it designed for?
Educators, fleet managers, leading edge shops, shops in enhanced I/M areas, and shops doing a lot of computer work (the QCSC DAS SYSTEM is easy to use).

What will it do for my business?
The QCSC DAS SYSTEM will give your shop a highly professional image and show your customers that you have the technological capability to service modern automobiles. Because the stored waveforms can be used to educate both customers and new technicians, time spent on diagnostics and service sales support will be reduced.

What else is required?
Any minimum function ISA standard 486, 586 or Pentium based computer with at least 4 meg of memory, an SVGA graphics card and a color monitor. A 'D:' ramdrive should be available. Some desktops may need to re-position the sound card if so equipped. DOS 5.0 or 6.2 is required. Ask about special configurations. The QCSC DAS SYSTEM uses standard banana plug leads, however, adapters are available for the secondary and distributorless. As with a DVOM, the minimum you really need is two leads, + and ground.

Is it a scanner?
NO, with QCSC DAS you don't need to waste your money on an endless sea of required software updates. Besides, scanners are too slow!

Can I take it on the road?
Yes, a notebook PC version is available. Get 'on the road to success' with QCSC DAS!
