Not much to report this month. Check out the April Letter for a little bit about what's been going on in my life.

I do have some fun news on the publishing front. In February, Harlequin reprinted Saturday's Child. This book originally came out as part of a special sub-series within the Harlequin American line called Century of American Romance. It featured one book from each decade of the 20th Century. At the time they were written, the last book or two actually qualified as futuristic! Saturday's Child was written for the first decade of the new century. It's about an Irish immigrant seamstress and an uppercrust gentleman from San Francisco's Nob Hill.

I can't tell you how much fun I had writing and researching this book. I spent hours hunching over microfiche, reading old newspapers, laughing at the ads and marveling at how many similarities there were between that time and our own. One article that stuck in my mind was about the importance of today's (circa 1906) busy woman making an effort to spend time with her children and how difficult it was to find time for family amid all the hustle and bustle of daily life. Modernize the language and update the illustrations and it could have been in any contemporary women's magazine. I guess it's true that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Anyway, I have fond feelings about the book and I'm delighted to see it being reissued though it's a little startling to realize that this practically qualifies as a reissue for a whole new generation!

In case you missed it, my latest book, The Substitute Wife, is in bookstores now. This book was so much fun to write. Cat is probably my all time favorite heroine and Luke is...Well, Luke is just luscious. You can check out the back cover blurb here or read the first chapter here.
