SELECT FILMS...Mostly TEEN/Rock N' Roll oriented...

by no means complete...lots of faves...if we missed something-let us know...

SURF/BEACH ORIENTED FILMS

BEACH BALL (Paramount 1965)
-With Edd "Kookie" Byrnes (of 77 SUNSET STRIP), Chris Noel...corny, but worth seeing THE HONDELLS, and pre-UK WALKER BROTHERS (with the 'greaser' look!), also SUPREMES, 4 SEASONS, RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS

BEACH BLANKET BINGO (AIP 1965)
-Frankie Avalon and Annette again, highlighted by DONNA LOREN (SHINDIG!), LINDA EVANS (BIG VALLEY), and MARTA KRISTEN (LOST IN SPACE). Linda rocks out with THE HONDELLS

BEACH PARTY (AIP 1963)
-Sand & Surf w/Annette Funicello, Frankie Avalon, Harvey Lembeck as Eric Von Zipper, Bob Cummings (LOVE THAT BOB), and Dorothy Malone (PEYTON PLACE) set the standard for surf-teen films of the era. DICK DALE wails out in this also

BIKINI BEACH (AIP 1964)
-Frankie Avalon plays a double role. Stock cornball stuff. Cool appearance of THE PYRAMIDS also 'Little' STEVIE WONDER

DR. GOLDFOOT AND THE BIKINI MACHINE (AIP 1965)
-Vincent Price's worst moment...with FABIAN...really lame. Theme song is by THE SUPREMES. Not recommended!

FOR THOSE WHO THINK YOUNG (UA 1964)
-With Nancy Sinatra and Bob Denver (Maynard/DOBIE GILLIS SHOW; Gilligan/GILLIGAN'S ISLAND) worth watching for Nancy.

GET YOURSELF A COLLEGE GIRL (MGM 1964)
-W/Nancy Sinatra, Chad Everett (THE DAKOTAS, MEDICAL CENTER), Mary Ann Mobley. STANDELLS perform "Swim", "Underneath The Apple Tree", plus DAVE CLARK FIVE, ANIMALS...pretty lame movie, but worth watching for Nancy, and the band appearances.

GHOST IN THE INVISIBLE BIKINI (AIP 1966)
-Boris Karloff and Basil Rathbone join the teen set! Also Tommy Kirk, Nancy Sinatra (who is backed by THE BOBBY FULLER 4), and THE BOBBY FULLER 4 (Complete with British VOX gear-equipment Bobby would never use)...definitely worth watching Nancy!

GIDGET (Columbia 1959)
-with Sandra Dee..the FIRST GIDGET!

GIDGET GOES HAWAIIAN (CBS 1961)
-With Deborah Walley as the SECOND GIDGET

GIDGET GOES TO ROME (CBS 1963)
-Cindy Carol the THIRD GIDGET. This trilogy of GIDGET films would later lead to the TV show production of GIDGET starring SALLY FIELDS (who later became THE FLYING NUN!)

THE GIRL CAN'T HELP IT (Fox 1956)
-Jayne Mansfield, Edmund O'Brien...besides Jayne, lotsa great R N' R with LITTLE RICHARD, FATS DOMINO,GENE VINCENT, and EDDIE COCHRAN.

GIRLS ON THE BEACH (1964)
-Stock beach stuff with lots of cool BEACH BOYS footage.

HORROR OF PARTY BEACH (Fox 1964)
-A popular idea for teen flicks in this era-cross Horror and Surf-with disastrous results. Highlight is when THE DEL-AIRES wail on the beach.

HOW TO STUFF A WILD BIKINI (AIP 1965)
-Dumb plot, cool appearance of THE KINGSMEN wailing on the beach

IT'S A BIKINI WORLD (TA 1967)
-With Tommy Kirk, Deb Walley. One of the better Beach flicks with a 'Skateboard Race'...still pretty corny, but fun watching THE GENTRYS play in someone's living room! Also a cool appearance by THE ANIMALS, THE TOYS ("Lover's Concerto"), and a fab performance of "Liar Liar" by THE CASTAWAYS.

MONKEY'S UNCLE (Buena Viata 1964)
-Disney production with Annette and Tommy Kirk. Theme is sung by Annette with THE BEACH BOYS.

MUSCLE BEACH PARTY (AIP 1964)
-Great title song penned by Master Surf Icon GARY USHER. DICK DALE also appears and is GREAT! With Peter Lupus (MISSION IMPOSSIBLE), Donna Loren, Annette, Frankie...recommended

OUT OF SIGHT (Universal 1965)
-THE ASTRONAUTS do a killer "Baby Please Don't Go" on the beach...also THE TURTLES, GARY LEWIS & THE PLAYBOYS, and FREDDIE & THE DREAMERS. Plot is typical-a bunch of teenagers can't decide which band to have play at their sock-hop. THE ASTRONAUTS get our vote! Elements of James Bond are present in this film but very ineffective.

PAJAMA PARTY (AIP 1964)
-With Tommy Kirk, Susan Hart, Donna Loren. Worth watching to look at DONNA LOREN!

RIDE THE WILD SURF (Columbia 1964)
-Starring FABIAN, Shelley Fabares, Tab Hunter and Barbara Eden (HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRRE, I DREAM OF JEANIE). Great theme song by JAN & DEAN. Jan & Dean were to appear in this, however Dean informed us that Frank Sinatra had them yanked from the film due to their 'involvement' with the kidnapping of Frank Sinatra Jr.

SKI PARTY (AIP 1965)
-Surf scene goes to the slopes, with Frankie Avalon, Dwayne Hickman, and Yvonne Craig (BATGIRL). JAMES BROWN, THE HONDELLS, and LESLIE GORE perform in the ski loft. Great seeing James in ski-threads!

SURF PARTY (Fox 1964)
-With Jackie DeShannon and Bobby Vinton...THE ASTRONAUTS wail in this! Actually a decent film...plot not as thin as most beach exploitation flicks...Jackie is GREAT in this also!

SWINGIN' SUMMER (USA 1965)
-worth watching for Raquel Welch-about the same time she appeared on SHINDIG!

WHERE THE BOYS ARE (MGM 1960)
-With Connie Francis. Connie does her milestone hit

WHEN THE BOYS MEET THE GIRLS (MGM 1965)

With Connie Francis, Sue Ann Langdon, Hermans Hermits ("Listen People"), Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs...predictable teen plot...Sue Ann is great in this.

WILD ON THE BEACH (Fox, 1966)
-With THE ASTRONAUTS, plus ASTRONAUTS backing SONNY & CHER...not really that wild though.

WILD WILD WINTER (Universal 1966)
-THE ASTRONAUTS perform "Change Of Heart", THE BEAU BRUMMELS do "Just Wait And See"...the surf goes to the ski slopes-with exception of these clips, a pretty awful movie

AIP BIKER FLICKS...AND RELATED

(Noted when AIP)

ANGEL UNCHAINED (AIP 1970)
-With Don Stroud, Tyne Daly (CAGNY & LACY)...Ex-Angel turns hippy, and is opposed on both sides-the local towns people, and the Angels. Tough guy ALDO RAY appears as the local sheriff.

ANGELS DIE HARD 1970

-With William Smith...only highlights in this are William Smith's parts...the rest of the film stinks...awful soundtrack-with exception of the FEVER TREE-plot is a predictable pilfer of THE WILD ANGELS...

ANGELS FROM HELL (AIP 1968)
-With Tom Stern, Arlene Martel. The Fuzz versus the Angels. This movie is sort of 'You seen one you seen them all' with the exception of Arlene Martel. Also of note is the brief appearance of the fab LOLLIPOP SHOPPE doing "Mr. Madison Avenue". Don't blink, you may not see them.

BORN LOSERS (AIP 1967)
-Tom Laughlin, Jeremy Slate. Billy Jack vs. a cycle gang terrorizing teenage girls. Kind of like a biker version of 'Deathwish'. Decent film.

CYCLE SAVAGES (AIP 1969)
-w/Bruce Dern, Chris Robinson (12 O'CLOCK HIGH), and Melody Patterson (F-TROOP). PLOT: Dern plays a great psycho (as always) as leader of a barbaric cycle gang who kidnaps teenage girls then sells them into slavery amongst other things. This is actually slow moving and shitty...really difficult to get through unless you have the FF remote close by!

DEVIL'S ANGELS (AIP 1967)
-John Cassavetes (JOHNNY STACATTO), Mimsy Farmer, Leo Gordon (MAVERICK) a favorite for sure. Icon John Cassavetes makes what could be a typical cycle gang vs. the town plot ultracool. Mimsy is always great, and tough guy/writer Leo Gordon is cool as the badazz sheriff. Recommended.

EASY RIDER (Columbia 1969)
-Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper. Cool movie-One of the best, cool soundtrack (Steppenwolf, Electric Prunes, Roger McGuinn, Hendrix).

GLORY STOMPERS (AIP 1967)

-Dennis Hopper as a crazed biker...some good fight scenes, not the best biker flick, but not the worst either...overall watchable...some lame, typical segments...good ending though...film dosen't live up to it's trailers! (Do any of them?)...

HELLCATS (Crown 1968)
-Girl cycle gangs' rompings. Music by the DOLPHINS and SOMEBODY'S CHILDREN.

HELL'S ANGELS ON WHEELS (US 1967)
-Jack Nicholson beats the crap out of his boss at a gas station, then gains respect and joins the Angels. They in turn crash a carnival and pummel some sailors. Head Hell's Angel Sonny Barger appears also. Recommended.

HELL'S ANGELS '69 (AIP 1969)
-Another fave starring Tom Stern, Jeremy Slate, Sonny Barger, & the Oakland Chapter of the Hell's Angels. The Angels give this revenge-dominated film a realistic edge. Recommended.

HELL'S BELLES (AIP 1969)
-Jeremy Slate again...Cycles on the desert again...not bad...Jeremy Slate vs. a motorcycle gang. Lotsa chicks on cycles wearing mini-skirts and false eyelashes, giving a very unrealistic edge...especially when these chicks sleep on the ground in a field all night and have their make-up and hair looking like they just came out of a Go-Go Club!

THE LOSERS (Fanfare 1970)
-With William Smith (HAWAII 5-0 -last season- GUNSMOKE, KUNG-FU...also in RUN ANGEL RUN as 'Angel'), Alan Roarke (HELL'S ANGELS ON WHEELS)...Cool concept-5 Hell's Angels are recruited by the government for a CIA mission...lotsa violence as the Angel's blast through Cambodia on souped-up (with machine guns, grenade launchers) cycles.

MINI-SKIRT MOB (AIP 1968)
-Jeremy Slate again! Plus e/p fave Diane McBain (SURF SIDE SIX), Sherry Jackson, and TOP 5 icon Harry Dean Stanton.

LEFT: The lovely DIANE McBAIN

REBEL ROUSERS (FSE 1967)
-Horrid biker flick starring the late Cameron Mitchell (HIGH CHAPARREL-can't believe he was in this awful movie), Bruce Dern (natch!), Diane Ladd, and Jack Nicholson. Only highlight in this is Nicholson's striped pants!

RUN ANGEL RUN (Fanfare 1969)

Similar plot to that of ANGEL UNCHAINED...Ex-member of The Devil's Advocates (William Smith as Angel) cycle gang decides to cut out and settle down. Problem is, he sold a story to a tabloid exposing the gang, and they come looking for him to cut him down.

SAVAGE SEVEN (AIP 1968)

Stock plot-Bikers vs....in this case a poor Indian village in the desert. With Robert Walker, Jr. (as an Indian!), Joanna Frank (his sister), and stock AIP Biker film alumni Adam Roarke. Duane Eddy has a small part in this as well. Good soundtrack with Cream's "Anyone For Tennis" and Iron Butterfly "Theme" and "Unconscious Power". Overall-not bad, drags at times, but action scenes are great.

WILD ANGELS (AIP 1966)
-Starring Peter Fonda, Nancy Sinatra, Bruce Dern, Diane Ladd, and The Hell's Angels. Music by Davie Allen And The Arrows. The best AIP biker flick.

TEEN-PSYCHEDELIC-JD-ROCK N' ROLL RELATED FILMS

A HARD DAY'S NIGHT (UA 1964)
-See BEATLES

THE BIG T.N.T. SHOW (1964)
-One of the coolest-with THE BYRDS, DONOVAN, THE LOVIN' SPOONFUL, PET CLARK, and U.N.C.L.E. icon DAVID McCALLUM.

BLACKBOARD JUNGLE (MGM 1955)
-A favorite all around. Stock JD stuff with Vic Morrow's debut as a hopped-up psycho. Also e/p fave Anne Francis, Sidney Poitier, Glen Ford. One of the first films with a R N' R theme-Bill Haley's "Rock Around The Clock". Highly Recommended.

LEFT: Deranged punk VIC MORROW (left) confronts teacher GLEN FORD in a classroom 'discussion'.

BLAST-OFF GIRLS (1967)
Herschell Gordon Lewis's idea of the R N' R Teen scene. No-budget, and bad acting...not really too good. The band (possibly conjured up for this movie) featured throughout the film: THE FADED BLUE...really trashy & inept.

BLONDE ON A BUM TRIP (1968)
-Good title, but pretty lousy film...only highlight is when THE BIT A' SWEET does "Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind".

BLOWUP (1968)
Boring, artsy film. Highlight is seeing THE YARDBIRDS (with both Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page) perform "Strollin' On" aka "Train Kept A Rollin'".

BORN WILD (AIP 1968)
-With Patty McCormack (THE BAD SEED) and Tom Nardini. The fat kid with greasy hair named Edgar in the hippy episode of LOST IN SPACE picks up some high toned dame in this, which is pretty unrealistic! Thin plot. Psych groups ORPHAN EGG (they are pretty cool here-too bad their records weren't), and THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION perform .

CANDY (Cinerama 1968)
-Great soundtrack by Roger McGuinn and Steppenwolf. Ringo (as a Mexicano gardiner!), James Coburn, John Astin (ADDAMS FAMILY, I'M DICKINS HE'S FENSTER), Walter Mathau, Richard Burton, Marlon Brando, and a cast of 1000. Bizarre and trashy, but overall not bad. 'Candy' is sent from another galaxy to give to mankind what it needs. From the picture of 'Candy' below, I don't have to tell you what that is, or what the plot encounters.

CARNIVAL ROCK (1958)
-w/The Shadows.

THE COOL ONES (1966)
-Another lame movie, but has a segment where the fab LEAVES perform "Dr. Stone".

DAY OF THE WOLVES (1971)
-Not really a R N' R film, but the great sound track is composed and performed by MUSIC MACHINE icon Sean Bonniwell. Starring the late, great Rick Jason (COMBAT!)...actually a decent film.

DEADLY BEES (1967)
-Typical fare about nasty swarming bees. Ron Wood's BIRDS appear making this forgetful film memorable.

DISK-O-TECK HOLIDAY (Allied 1966)
-Thin plot about some square kid trying to hype his new 45. Cool appearances by THE VAGRANTS ("Oh Those Eyes"-played at a pool party, with Leslie West in a turtle neck!), THE ROCKIN' RAMRODS, FREDDY CANNON, FREDDIE & THE DREAMERS, CHIFFONS, PETER & GORDON. Cool. Recommended.

FASTER PUSSYCAT KILL KILL!

The Russ Meyer MASTERPIECE starring the STUNNING TURA SATANA...You all KNOW how cool this movie is...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED...

FASTEST GUITAR ALIVE (MGM 1967)
-Pretty lame...with ROY ORBISON, SAM THE SHAM.

FERRY CROSS THE MERSEY (UA 1964)
-GERRY & THE PACEMAKERS' version of 'A Hard Day's Night'. Not too hot.

FIREBALL 500 (AIP 1966)
-More corny antics with Frankie Avalon, Annette, and Fabian.

FOR SINGLES ONLY (Columbia 1968)
-w/Lana Wood, John Saxon (THE BOLD ONES), and Milton Berle-Racy typical late-60's swinger flick. Colegems new version of THE MONKEES-THE LEWIS AND CLARKE EXPEDITION appear along with The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and The Sunshine Company. Hippy dippy.

GIMMIE SHELTER (1969)
-See THE ROLLING STONES...The coolest...anti-hippy all the way.

GO-GO BIG BEAT! (1964)
-Brit-Rock showcase including LULU, ANIMALS, HOLLIES, TREMOLOS, TORNADOS, MERSEYBEATS.

HAVING A WILD WEEKEND (WB 1965)
-DC5's version of 'A Hard Day's Night'. Not as great as it should have been. Music clips are great, but overall it stinks.

HEAD (Columbia 1968)
-See MONKEES

HELP!
-See BEATLES

HEY, LET'S TWIST! (Paramount 1961)
-The 'Peppermint Lounge Story' with JOEY DEE & THE STARLITERS.

HOLD ON! (MGM 1965)
-HERMAN'S HERMITS' version of 'Help!' with e/p faves Sue Ann Langdon and Shelley Fabares. Great soundtrack performed by The Hermits, and written mostly by P. F. Sloan.

HOT RODS TO HELL (MGM 1967)
-Decent.With Mimsy Farmer and Dana Andrews.

HOUND DOG MAN (Fox 1959)
-Fabe's debut with Carol Lynley, Royal Dano, and icon L. Q. Jones. Fabe does a laid-back version of 'Hound Dog Man'.

LAST OF THE SECRET AGENTS? (Paramount 1966)
-A Nancy Sinatra fave

LET'S ROCK! (CBS 1958)
-R N' R with THE ROYAL TEENS, DANNY & THE JUNIORS, PAUL ANKA

THE LIVELY SET
-Starring Doug McClure (CHECKMATE, VIRGINIAN, OVERLAND TRAIL), and singing Teen Idol James Darren (TIME TUNNEL). Corny 'swinger-type' antics, but fun.

THE LOVE-INS (CBS 1967)
-Horrid hippy-dippy theme and antics despite the great cast: Susan Oliver, James MacArthur (HAWAII 5-0), Mark Goddard (JOHNNY RINGO, LOST IN SPACE), and Richard Todd (as some Timothy Leary type guru). Single highlight-and worth seeing-is when THE CHOCOLATE WATCHBAND does "Are You Gonna Be There (At The Love-In)"-which in itself is way too short of an appearance.

MEDICINE BALL CARAVAN (WB 1970)
-With Beau Brummels' SAL VALENTINO, and THE ALICE COOPER GROUP doing "Black Ju-Ju"

MONDO MOD (1967)
-Some cool footage, and kind of a 'documentary' of sorts concerning the new 'hip generation'. Some lame group called THE GROUP does an inept instrumental version of the Byrds' "Feel A Whole Lot Better", amongst other things.

MONTERAY POP (1969)
-The beginning of the end? Some great stuff though by The Airplane, Animals, Jimi Hendrix, and The Who.

MRS. BROWN YOU HAVE A LOVELY DAUGHTER (MGM 1965)
-Hold On! was great, but this is painful to watch.

MURDERER'S ROW (CBS 1966)
-One of the trilogy of the Dean Martin "Matt Helm" films-DINO DESI & BILLY appear in this one.

MUSICAL MUTINY (1970 Cine World)
-More hippy-dippy mania with THE IRON BUTTERFLY, and a cast of middle-ofthe road hippy bands. Pretty dismal...maybe The Iron Butterfly's version of 'A Hard Day's Night'???

NED KELLY (UA 1970)
-Mick Jagger as the Aussie outlaw Ned Kelly. Really decent. Jagger is realistic and cool.

PALM SPRINGS WEEKEND (WB 1963)
-Starring a cavalcade of faves-CONNIE STEVENS (HAWAIIAN EYE, WENDY AND ME), TROY DONAHUE (SURF SIDE SIX, HAWAIIAN EYE), TY HARDIN (BRONCO), STEFANIE POWERS (GIRL FROM U.N.C.L.E.), BOB CONRAD (HAWAIIAN EYE, WILD WILD WEST), and ANDREW DUGGAN (BOURBON STREET BEAT, LANCER)...Connie, Troy, Ty, Stephanie, and Bob Conrad all sing...Seems like a typical teen film until you find out Bob Conrad is a psycho!

LEFT: Bob Conrad with Connie Stevens

PERCY (MGM 1971)
-Racy and awful-However-THE KINKS did the GREAT soundtrack to this.

PERFORMANCE (WB 1969)
-Jagger again...Mick doing a double role. With Anita Pallenburg. Mick does the cool "Memo From Turner".

PLAYGIRL KILLER (1970)
-Awful. About a psyco-artist that kills all of his models. w/Neil Sedaka, and Canada's Beatle-influenced J. B. And The Playboys.

POP GEAR 1964 (AIP 1965)
-Famous UK DJ Jimmy Saville introduces the likes of THE BEATLES, HERMAN'S HERMITS, BILLY J. KRAMER & THE DAKOTAS, ANIMALS, SPENCER DAVIS GROUP, NASHVILLE TEENS, HONEYCOMBS, PETER & GORDON...some cool footage.

THE PRESIDENT'S ANALYST (Paramount 1967)
-Crazy film starring TOP 5 Icon James Coburn. Way out concept of how the phone company is taking over the world. James plays gong with psychedelic band CLEAR LIGHT out in a field! Bizarre, but recommended. The second time you watch it, it makes more sense.

PRIVILEGE (Universal 1967)
-Starring Paul Jones (Ex-Manfred Mann) and Jean Shrimpton...boring, but Jean Shrimpton looks great in this.

PSYCH-OUT (AIP 1968)
-More hippy-dippy LSD induced nonsense starring a pony-tailed Jack Nicholson, Bruce Dern (as usual!), Dean Stockwell, and the late Susan Strasberg. Highlight is when THE SEEDS perform "Point Two Fingers" while a parade of hippys frolic around a cemetery with a casket (for a hippy funeral of course!). STRAWBERRY ALARMCLOCK appears as well.

REVOLUTION (UA 1969)
-More hippy antics...QUICKSILVER MESSENGER SERVICE appearance is the single highlight here.

RIOT ON SUNSET STRIP (AIP 1967)
-Classic. One of the better AIP exploits with milestone appearances by THE CHOCOLATE WATCHBAND ("Don't Need Your Lovin", "Sittin There Standin'"), THE STANDELLS ("Riot On Sunset Strip", "Get Away From Here"), and THE ENEMIES. Stars Mimsy Farmer, Aldo Ray and Tim Rooney.

ABOVE: Left-Aldo Ray and Mimsy Farmer...Right:THE STANDELLS Rock Out!

ROCK ALL NIGHT (AIP 1957)
-Stars Russell Johnson (Professor on GILLIGAN'S ISLAND, BLACK SADDLE), Abby Dalton and Dick Miller. Really good drama...lots of beatnik lingo. Great watching middle-aged beat-hipster 'Sir Bop' say things like "Let's blow the lid offa this gin mill" and "Man, she'll gas you outta you skull"... THE PLATTERS do "He's Mine", and I'm Sorry".

ROCK N' ROLL CIRCUS (1968)
-See THE ROLLING STONES...the coolest...one of our favorites...

ROCK N' ROLL HIGH SCHOOL (1979)
-Starring THE RAMONES as themselves. Feeble attempt to do a
'Hard Day's Night' starring THE RAMONES. Highlight is the Ramone's theme song-sung in a shower stall!

THE SLENDER THREAD (1965)
-Stirling Silliphant coolness (NAKED CITY, ROUTE 66), starring Anne Bancroft as a suicidal housewife. Also stars icons Steven Hill (MISSION IMPOSSIBLE-First Season), Sidney Poitier, and Telly Savalas (KOJAK). Ultrahighlight is when THE SONS OF ADAM wail out in a teen club.

THE STRAWBERRY STATEMENT (1969)
-More hippy philosophy with uninspiring performances by THE STRAWBERRY ALARMCLOCK.

SWEET RIDE (Fox 1968)
-Starring Tony Franciosa (NAME OF THE GAME), Bob Denver (again!), Warren Stevens (RICHARD BOONE SHOW), and Jacqueline Bisset. MOBY GRAPE does the theme song. DUSTY SPRINGFIELD performs also.

SWINGIN' AFFAIR (1963)
-Pretty awful movie, but has DICK DALE & THE DEL TONES.

SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL (1969)
-Jean Luc Goddard weirdness interspersed with the Stones building "Sympathy For The Devil".
-See ROLLING STONES

THE T.A.M.I. SHOW (AIP 1964)
-Top 5...With THE ROLLING STONES, JAMES BROWN, SMOKEY ROBINSON, MARVIN GAYE, SUPREMES, BEACH BOYS, BARBARIANS ("Hey Little Bird") and more. Hosted by JAN & DEAN. The formula for great shows to come: SHINDIG! and HULLABALOO.

THEY RAN FOR THEIR LIVES (CVI 1968)
-Great theme song by THE KNICKERBOCKERS. Starring top5 hero Anthony Eisley (PETE KELLY'S BLUES, HAWAIIAN EYE, INVADERS, F.B.I.), 'Big' Jim Davis (RESCUE 8, STORIES OF THE CENTURY, DALLAS), and Scott Brady (SHOTGUN SLADE). Mediocre desert drama, unintentionally funny at times.

THE TRIP (AIP 1967)
-Written by Jack Nicholson...starring AIP staples Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, Susan Strasberg, and Bruce Dern. Peter Fonda trips out on acid. Typical AIP standards. Music by THE ELECTRIC FLAG.

TO SIR WITH LOVE (1967)
-Starring Sidney Poitier, Lulu WAYNE FONTANA AND THE MINDBENDERS perform "It's Getting Harder All The Time", LULU does "To Sir With Love". It should also be noted that a teenage Michael DesBarres (lead singer of SILVERHEAD) is one of the punk kids (always wearing shades) in the classroom. Great film. One of our faves.

UNTAMED YOUTH (WB 1957)
-With Mamie Van Doren, and EDDIE COCHRAN performing.

VILLAGE OF THE GIANTS (1964)
-Stupid movie, but the BEAU BRUMMELS appear, and are very cool.

WHAT'S GOOD FOR THE GOOSE (1970)

-Brit-swinger stuff...a middle aged square tries to fit in with the hipsters and tries to make the scene with his teeny-bopper girlfriend. THE PRETTY THINGS (with TWINK) appear.

WHAT'S UP, TIGER LILY? (AIP 1964)
-Dry Woody Allen humor. With THE LOVIN' SPOONFUL, who also do part of the soundtrack. Funny, but at times tired.

WILD IN THE STREETS (AIP 1968)
-Starring Chris Jones (LEGEND OF JESSE JAMES) as Max Frost, Shelley Winters, Hal Holbrook (THE BOLD ONES), and a cast of 1000's. Max fronts a R N' R band Max Frost & The Troopers ("Shape of Things To Come"), and runs for president-and wins. Amonst other things, he wants everyone over 30 confined to concentration camps-tripping out on Acid! Mark Lindsay was the first choice as Max Frost (notice how Max Frost/Chris Jones is modeled after Mark-Mod Threads-Knee Boots-Ponytail) but due to the fact that The Raiders were under contract to do several appearances at the same time of the filming, Mark had to decline.

LEFT: Hippys rioting over Max Frost

WILD REBELS (1967)
-Horrid film with blatantly fake bikers. Steve Alaimo (WHERE THE ACTION IS) and THE BIRDWATCHERS appear.

WINTER A GO-GO (CBS 1965)
