Only certain people have the DNA necessary to be able to phase and when they do, they split into three separate but whole selves so they are able to be exceptional witnesses. Also they must phase in the nude, because only the body is able to phase.
As the story opens, Rob Stone is phasing but comes out a little off target and finds that one of the phasers has been raped and killed by a rogue phaser, Ramsey. After a trial, Ramsey is freed but will remain a thorn in their side until the end. As the story progresses, we find out that those who are handicapped in life may be able to move and function normally in phase. There is plenty of action as well as showing the everyday functions they must perform.
The supporting cast is all well done and there is plenty of good writing. Add in a movie sub-plot and a romantic situation. Atk. Butterfly is showing different sides from the other books of his I’ve read and he is showing that he is versatile and talented. Also available from Amazon.com in Rocket edition, Softbook and Palm Pilot.
