YCS Security is comprised of 17 fulltime, year-around positions which expands by several positions during the summer months. Responsibilities include patrolling by vehicle, foot, and bicycle, of locations in Yosemite Valley, Wawona. During the summer, Glacier Point and Tuolumne Meadow locations are added. In the winter, Badger Pass Ski Area is added.
Security is also responsible for security efforts in the hotels such as Yosemite Lodge, Curry Village, and the historic Wawona and The Ahwahnee hotels, along with the assorted retail and food service locations, managing all intrusion and fire alarm systems, fire suppression system maintenance, responding to guest injuries, pro-active, and documentation of bear damage related incidents (and coordinating bear incidents with NPS Bear Management), Lost and Found (approx. 200 items a week are processed requiring at least one fulltime position), Internal and External Theft Control Processes along with many other tasks.
The YCS Security budget also includes the company's paid-call volunteer fire department. For more information, see the Yosemite Fire link above.
YCS Security continually accepts applications for employment for both seasonal and full time Security Officers. Applications can be located on the web site at: Yosemite Jobs
After completion, they may be mailed to the address above, or faxed directly to Security at 209-372-8460. Applications will be forwarded to H.R., and kept on file in the Security Department for about one year.
