Work Experience

* Manger of Security, Fire and Life Safety        (March 2000-)

Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts at Yosemite (Formerly: Yosemite Concession Services Corp.), a Delaware North Company, Yosemite National Park, California 

Security, Fire, and Life Safety Department

Overall supervision of seventeen year-round personnel (approximately 20+ during summer months) with direct supervision of the Administrator, Assistant Manager of Security, and Alarm Technician/Fire Captain.  Plan, establish, and assure compliance with various security, fire and safety procedures.  Oversee and/or conduct investigations of policy non-compliance and criminal activity towards the Company, guests, or employees.  Responsible for formulation, revisions, and supervision of the Capital expenditure budget.  Oversee all department accounts including the operational budget, expenditures, etc. (approximate annual budget of $800,000).  Manage approximately $250,000 of other Business Unit's budgets.  Oversee the Lost and Found Department which processes approximately 13,000 items annually.  Assure compliance with applicable safety and labor codes.  Communicate with executive staff and unit managers regarding security, fire, and safety incidents.  Make recommendations to unit managers and executive staff regarding security or fire safety issues.  Constantly evaluate operations for physical security and general security awareness.  Review daily reports and documents.  Comment and provide recommendations as necessary.  Conduct periodic review of training programs to ensure suitability, effectiveness, and maintenance of professional standards.  Maintain liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement and fire agencies regarding security, fire, and safety issues.  Periodic inspection and testing of facilities to evaluate conformance to Company loss prevention and other security procedures.  Coordinate outside shoppers and private investigators.  Conduct employee and applicant background checks as requested or required.  Present security-related workshops and presentations as requested.  Perform safety-related responsibilities as requested.  Oversee all Security administrative functions.  Attend disciplinary meetings or legal proceedings as required.     

* West Division Manger of Security          (November 1998-February 2000)

AT&T Broadband (acquired TCI), San Ramon, California

Essential functions of the position included setting department security goals, managing workflow to ensure effective operations, executive protection, managing field audit contractors, and providing workplace violence training.  Investigation activities included: suspected unauthorized customers, internal theft, human resource matters and external losses as directed, interviews of employees and non-employees, documentation of findings and court testimony in support of such findings, investigation of local, regional, and national decoder piracy, liaison with law enforcement agencies.  Management and oversight of 50+ retail "Cable Store" locations and related security upgrades.  Developed new, adapted existing, and then implemented, "Plant Damage Recovery" processes.  West Division included approximately 2,000 employees, and two million customers.  

* Southwest Regional Security Manager      (July 1997-November 1998)

Tele-Communications, Inc. ("TCI") West Division, Southwest Region; Livermore, California

Responsible for setting security department goals, monitoring and controlling workflow, and ensuring an effective operating department.  Investigation of suspected unauthorized customers, document finds.  Responsible for developing and administering physical security systems and programs to ensure the safety and security of TCI employees and property.  Maintain "secret witness" program.  Conduct internal investigations.  Liaison with law enforcement officials and civil attorneys regarding written and verbal testimony.      

* Audit/Security Supervisor             (April 1996-July 1997)

TCI of Los Angeles County; City of Industry, California

Responsible for the implementation and supervision of all phases of the field audit program, including the investigation of suspected unauthorized customers, document finds, and providing written and/or verbal testimony at court proceedings.  Responsible for developing and administering physical security systems and programs to ensure the safety and security of TCI employees and property.

Western Cable Services; Ventura, California

WCS was a "Multiple-System Operator," telecommunications construction company, and performed Master Antenna system TV maintenance.  Supervised service and construction crews, developed bids for cable television projects, coordinated agreements with cable television networks, and responsible for complete physical asset management.
