Excursions and extra Passenger Trains
Wildflower Specials.
These trains ran in the spring from LA Union station to Bakersfield with a stop in the Tehachapi Mountains to look at the wildflowers. Sponsored by the Pacific Railroad Society and run by the Southern Pacific, they were also called "Daisy Pickers", below are some photo's. The last shot shows that it was not always "spring" like weather, the snow was falling sideways due to the wind off the mountain. A popular excursion, would run Saturday and Sunday.
