People
Designing and Modeling 3D Computer Objects

Intro - Design - Sets - Vehicles - Machines - Props - People

Step 1. Designing the model:
Models begin taking shape inside the brains of Joe and Dave. They talk a lot and send sketches back and forth until a shape emerges that satisfies them both.

Step 3. Rendering Model:
Dave then puts all of the individual pieces together in a special way that allows him to easily move sections and rotate joints. This is especially crucial for machines like the spider shown.

Step 2. Modeling Body Parts:
From here on it is all Dave's work. For each model he builds dozens of 3D parts and adds small details, so that they look realistic, both close up and from a distance.

Step 4. Adding Textures:
The final step is adding textures to the models. This is not as easy as it sounds, since most of the textures are created by Dave, and he applies them to each part individually.

When finished, the model should look very realistic (and very cool, we hope).
