BALLOU, Dennis G. - Private, Battery A, 5th RI Artillery. Enlisted 14 Dec 1861 from Slatersville, Providence Co., RI at age 18. Mustered in 27 Dec 1861. Detached 15 Aug 1863 to a Gunboat. Detached 15 Oct 1863 to Q. M. Dept. Captured 20 April 1864 at Plymouth, NC. Died 16 Oct 1864 of Scorbutus at Charleston, SC. (death date also listed as 26 June 1865). His name appears on a marble marker in the Beaufort National Cemetery, SC as being reinterred from Charleston & buried as an unknown. Marked as D. G. Bollon.

BASCOMBE, Richard - 2nd Lieutenant, 38th USCT. Enlisted 26 Aug 1862 into Co. C, 50th NY Engineers at Rome, NY at age 39. Mustered in as a Private. Wounded 11 Dec 1862 at Fredericksburg, VA. Promoted to Corporal on 27 Dec 1862. Promoted to Sergeant on 16 March 1864. Discharged 26 March 1864 for promotion to 2nd Lieutenant, 38th USCT. Captured 20 April 1864 at Plymouth, NC. Paroled 1 March 1865 at North East Ferry, NC. Mustered out 14 June 1865.

DAY, Augustus P. - 1st Lieutenant, Co. A, 15th CT Infantry. Enlisted 14 July 1862 from New Haven, CT. Commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant, Co. B on 25 Aug 1862. Commissioned as 1st Lieutenant, Co. A on 16 Nov 1863. Captured 20 April 1864 at Plymouth, NC. Paroled 10 Dec 1864. Mustered out 27 June 1865.

DOANE, Austin H. - Wagoner, Co. I, 15th CT Infantry. Enlisted 5 Aug 1862 from New Haven, CT. Mustered in 25 Aug 1862. Captured 21 April 1864 at Plymouth, NC. Paroled. Discharged 1 June 1865. 

DOWD, Demetrius S. - Private, Co. K, 15th CT Infantry. Enlisted 9 Aug 1862 from Wallingford, CT. Mustered in 25 Aug 1862. Captured 18 April 1864 at Plymouth, NC. Held captive at Andersonville, GA & Florence, SC. Died 10 Nov 1864 in the Florence Stockade and is buried as an unknown in the Florence National Cemetery. 

FOOTE, Morris C. - 2nd Lieutenant, Co. H, 92nd NY Infantry. Enlisted 21 June 1862. Captured 20 April `64 at Plymouth, NC. Escaped 29 Nov `64 from Camp Sorghum, Columbia, SC. Picked up 12 Dec `64 by the crew of the U.S. Gunboat Nipsic. Discharged 31 Dec 1864. Also served in Co. C, 44th NY Infantry & Co. G, 121st NY Infantry. After the war he enlisted in the Regular Army and for the next forty years served in various Indian campaigns, fought in the Battle of San Juan Hill during the Spanish-American War, and was a member of the international expeditionary force sent to quell the Chinese Boxer Rebellion in 1900. Retired in 1900 as a Brigadier General. Died in 1905.

FORD, James M. - Private, Co. A, 15th CT Infantry. Enlisted 11 July 1862 from Meriden, CT. Mustered in 25 Aug 1862. Captured 20 April 1864 at Plymouth, NC. Held captive at Andersonville, GA & Florence, SC. Died 15 Oct 1864 in the Florence Stockade and is buried as an unknown in the Florence National Cemetery. 

HANSON, Frederick A. - Private, Co. I, 15th CT Infantry. Enlisted 6 Aug 1862 from New Haven, CT. Mustered in 25 Aug 1862. Captured 21 April 1864 at Plymouth, NC. Died 10 Aug 1864 at Andersonville, GA. Grave #5352.

HARWOOD, George - Private, Co. A, 15th CT Infantry. Enlisted 14 July 1862 from Meriden, CT. Mustered in 25 Aug 1862 as a Corporal. Reduced to Private 20 Aug 1863. Captured 20 April 1864 at Plymouth, NC. Died 6 Aug 1864 at Andersonville, GA Grave # 4937.

HODGES, H. I. - Captain. Assistant Quartermaster of Volunteers. Accidentally drowned 19 April 1864 in the Roanoke River by the upsetting of a canoe.

MAGINNIS, James - Private, Co. E, 15th CT Infantry. Enlisted 11 Aug 1862 from Milford, CT. Mustered in 25 Aug 1862. Captured 20 April 1864 at Plymouth, NC. Died 17 Aug 1864 at Andersonville, GA. Grave # 5932.

MOFFIT, Stephen - Lieutenant Colonel, 96th NY Infantry. Enlisted 19 Nov 1861 at Plattsburg, NY  at age 24. Commissioned 27 March 1862 as 1st Lieutenant, Co. B. Wounded 5 May 1862 at Williamsburg, VA. Commissioned 18 June 1862 to Captain of Co. B. Commissioned 19 May 1863 as Lieutenant Colonel. Captured in action at Plymouth, NC. Paroled 3 Aug 1864. Wounded 27 Oct 1864 at Fair Oaks, VA and had his leg amputated. Commissioned 27 May 1865 as Colonel. Mustered out 6 Feb 1866 at City Point, VA. 

STEWART, Andrew J. - Assistant Adjutant General. Born 6 June 1836 in Uniontown, Fayette Co., PA. Commissioned as 1st Lieutenant on 11 Nov 1861 into Co. I, 85th PA Infantry; a 25 year-old Medical Student. Commissioned 1 Sep 1862 as Captain & Assistant Adjutant General. Captured 20 April 1864 at Plymouth, NC. Held captive for 1 year less 15 days and escaped 5 or 6 times but was recaptured. Date and method of discharge not known. Became a U.S. Congressman, 24th PA District. Died 18 Oct or 9 Nov 1903 in Stewarton, Fayette Co., PA and is buried in Union Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.

TREADWAY, John H. - Private, Co. D, 15th CT Infantry. Enlisted 24 July 1862 from New Haven, CT. Mustered in 25 Aug 1862 as Corporal. Reduced to Private. Captured 21 April 1864 at Plymouth, NC. Died 13 Sep 1864 at Andersonville, GA. Grave #7723.

WHEELER, John D. - Captain, Co. G, 15th CT Infantry. Enlisted 16 July 1862 from New Haven, CT. Commissioned 25 Aug 1862 as Captain. Captured 20 April 1864 at Plymouth, NC. Paroled 10 Dec 1864. Resigned 30 Jan 1865.
