think we have lost a great

and noble man and I feel

very solemn over his Death for

my part, and I think the

soldiers have lost a Father

but there is an other to take

his place which I hope will

show the traitors boath North

and south no mercy whatever

but just put them down from

the very start, and I think he

will from what he said to old

Jeff Davis when he went to rich

mond. Well enough of this at present

Well William I have not got

that money that you sent to

Warsaw yet and I am needing

it very much as I am out of

money at present and need

groceries very much, that is I

need coffee and sugar and such

things and they will not take County

turn over and see what is there
