My Dear Husband,
it is with
the greatest of pleasure that I
seat my self to try to write a few
lines to you to let you know that
I received the letter which you
wrote at shoals Mills on the 11th
of this month, it came to hand
to day and found us all enjoying
good health and I hope these
few lines may find you enjoying
the same great blessing. Well
William I do not think you will
have to stay down there much
longer I think the time will soon
come that you can come home to
stay and that we can enjoy each
others society in peace as we once
did. We have good news here;
the news is that Lee has surrinderd his
army and has went to get Johnson
turn over but don't roll out of bed
