Banks of Green River, a very nice clear stream with very high Rocky Banks in some places the banks are as much as 100 feet high & straight up & down There are a great many high hills about here which when you get upon you can see for miles in every direction The health of our Regiment is much better than it has been & I think it will continue good for we are now encamped in a nice healthy place where we can get plenty of good pure water. We shall very likely stay here for sometime for there is a very large high bridge to be built before we can cross the river or get our provisions & ammunition carried over. But I must hasten to close my letter for it is getting late I sent a letter to my Brother |
