What's New At Crossroads!The Gloretts...one day old!!

We took a chilly walk through the woods this morning. The sun so bright it hurt my eyes and made the snow sparkle as we went along. It seems strange to only have two dogs to take along. And, every now and then still find myself stopping and waiting along the trail for the sound of Jake and Emma to come thundering past. I catch a glimpse of Miles and Gloria, as they race through the powdery snow, and that propels me forward with a smile. Perhaps it's meant to be that each new year and all our new beginnings somehow make our favorite memories even warmer.

My melancholy heart was lifted when we returned home, by the chatter of Gloria's puppies. Nine babies, five boys and four girls gracefully arrived January 9th  2001  "The Gloretts", as we've dubbed them are all beautiful, healthy and strong. They eagerly await the return of their mom and their midday meal. Dinner is served and all's well. I find the puppies intoxicating and savor every moment. Only four weeks and already they run and play like pro's!

Gloria was bred to Can/Am Ch. Almanza Wet or Dry at Prairelight CDX WCI JH WC in November. Our thanks to Tar's owner Margareta Berin and to Gillian Impey for helping us make this happen. Tar is a delightful dog, as handsome and sweet as he is talented. Gloria found him extremely charming, especially when he offered her his kong to play with. Watching these lovely pups grow assures me that I made an excellent choice for this breeding and we hope that each pup makes a big splash in the Flat Coat world no matter what avenues they explore.

Miles is being the very best Uncle he can be. He sit's patiently by the whelping box, waiting for Gloria to come out and play. He's curious but shy, and that seems to work well for Gloria.
