 SNOWMAN


Materials:
wStyrofoam Egg for the body (2-3/8" x 3-3/4" approximate size)
wKnit Fabric Scraps for the hat and scarf (recycle an old t-shirt, sweatshirt or sock  for the hat and scarf - adds a personalized and sentimental touch)
wPomPom for the hat
wFelt Scraps for the mittens
wTwigs for the arms (approxiamtely 3" for each arm)
wButtons or Beads for the eyes
wCraft Glue

Instructions:

w Cut knit fabric for hat 11" square
Cut knit fabric for scarf 1-1/2" x 12-1/2" - fringe long ends
Cut felt scrap for mittens 
w Put a little glue on one end of each twig and push twigs into center of each side of the styrofoam egg
w For Hat - glue back edges of knit fabric square together. To roll brim, fold bottom 1/2" of fabric upward and glue.  With the seam at the back glue the hat onto the top of the styrofoam egg.  Glue a pompom to the tip fo the hat.
w For Mittens - sandwich the twig arm between two mitten peices with mitten thumb pointing upward.  Glue the mitten pieces together.
w For Scarf - fold scarg in half lengthwise and tie scarf around neck.  Add a dab of glue under knot to secure in place.
w For Eyes - glue buttons or beads to front of snowman approximately 1/2" apart.
w If desired, a hanger may be added to the snowman by stitching a 10" length of embroidery floss or yarn through both layers of fabric in the center of the hat and tying the ends together in a knot.
