I don't want to overstate the point, but the Modernista! slogan is pretty much as the participant speakers described it, and not as Mr. Allison described them. In fairness to him, he made the statement as an extemporaneous aside, and made his statement very politely. Here are two low-resolution bitmap "fair-use quotes" from an advertisement that appeared in The New Yorker, April 4, 2005, on page 17. The two quoted sections are less than 5% of the area of the full-page ad, but are the two most prominent parts (and have the largest type.)
