THEY HAVE NO
WINE!
GOD DELIBERATELY CREATED RED WINE TO REPRESENT
CHRIST’S BLOOD. This is proven by the amazingly WIDE range of wine’s
demonstrated health benefits when viewed in combination with the comprehensive
Biblical history of God’s deliberately ordained purpose for wine. No random natural origin can explain wine’s
very wide range of benefits. Only the
Creator’s deliberate purpose can explain.
Red wine genuinely
represents Christ’s blood with real cleansing and healing properties in the
physical realm analogous to those of his blood in the spirit realm. Combined, plain, and substantial, Biblical
and physical evidences show this with a high confidence level. Large population studies in Copenhagen,
Denmark and Nancy, France, and other studies at Harvard University, Kaiser
Permanente and the American Heart Association show that moderate, daily use, of
red wine produces a very wide range
of genuine, major, health benefits.
The Bible demands that
eternal salvation comes only through
atonement procured by Jesus Christ’s sinless life and innocent-blood
sacrificial death. Islam is rising to
compete for people’s allegiance. But
Islam has no Savior and no atonement for sin as does Christianity. Red wine’s health benefits bolsters
Christian confidence.
MAJOR POPULATION STUDIES IN FRANCE AND DENMARK PROVIDE STRONG SUPPORT
These studies are not artificial
designs, but tracked large natural populations in France and Denmark 10 to 15
years. High confidence is warranted. Several daily glasses of red wine give
30-50% better health and mortality.
The French study, 1978-1983 – “To evaluate prospectively the effect on mortality of
wine drinking in Eastern France, we conducted an analysis on 34,014 consecutive
middle-aged men coming for a comprehensive health appraisal between 1978 and
1983.” This was published in the
March 1998 peer reviewed, science journal Epidemiology. A Web search for Serge Renaud, Nancy France,
and wine should locate documenting articles.
CBS 60 Minutes aired advanced information it called “The French Paradox” in November 1991. “A
moderate intake of wine (2-5 glasses per day) was associated with a 24-31%
reduction in all-cause mortality, a
proportion that was similar for smokers, ex-smokers, and nonsmokers.” This
is for ALL CAUSES and for DAILY USAGE.
Women’s usage is about 1 glass less.
Also, wine gave much better
cardiovascular (CDH) health than other alcohol drinks. ONLY
wine correlates to about 30% lower “all-cause mortality” rates.
The Denmark study, 1976-1988 – A Web search for Copenhagen City Heart Study and
Elisabeth Holmgren should find the documenting articles. “One of the first in-depth
beverage-specific studies in a non-Mediterranean country, this landmark Danish
study examined the association between intake of different types of alcoholic
beverages and mortality in 6,051 men and 7,234 women aged 30-70 years at 10-12
years follow-up between 1976 and 1988. The results showed that the mortality
risk decreased steadily with an increasing intake of wine. For wine drinkers,
death rates from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease were reduced by
over 50%, and death by other causes was reduced by 20 to 50%, beginning at one
drink per day compared to abstention……Our finding, that only wine drinking
clearly reduces both the risk of dying from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular
disease and the risk of dying from other causes," wrote Morten Gronbaek,
M.D., and colleagues in the British Medical Journal, "suggest that other
more broadly acting factors in wine may be present. Antioxidants and
flavonoids, which are presumed to prevent both coronary heart disease and some
cancers, may be present in red wine." The study noted that during the past
15 years mortality from coronary heart disease had declined about 30% in
Denmark. This statistic coincided with the opening of the European market,
resulting in a dramatic increase in wine consumption in Denmark, "which,
in accordance with our findings, may have contributed to the decline in death
from coronary heart disease," the researchers stated.” Note that “all causes” and “only wine” are
mentioned. The other studies are
consistent with these studies.
BIBLE - RED WINE’S DELIBERATELY ORDAINED HISTORY TO EMBLEM CHIRST’S
BLOOD
In the New Testament (NT)
book of Luke chapter 2, below, Jesus Christ plainly asserts HIS TIME is JUST like getting good
wine. This is his FIRST recorded miracle; it’s a
WEDDING. Christianity IS betrothal
to Jesus! The context makes clear the
wine is real; AND the best wine comes last.
“God made wine that makes glad the heart of man” (Psalm
104). How fitting Jesus provides wine
and joy at a wedding in his first miracle!
New Testament, Book of John,
chapter 2:1-11:
1 And the third day there
was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: 2 And
both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. 3 And when they
wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. 4 Jesus
saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. 6
And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the
purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. 7 Jesus saith
unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the
feast. And they bare it. 9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water
that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew
the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 10 And saith
unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men
have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine
until now. 11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and
manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
In Genesis 14, in the Old
Testament, Abraham, God’s great man of faith, returning from military victory
is met by mysterious Melchizedek, King of Salem and Priest of the Most High
God. Melchizedek brought forth bread
and wine. The New Testament book of Hebrews says, “Christ is a high priest
forever after the order of Melchizedek.”
Abraham had believed God’s promise, and God imputed righteousness for salvation unto him and likewise to all
future believers, who believe God’s promise.
See Romans chapter 3 thought 5.
The Bible makes clear that God demands qualified, innocent blood
payment, to ransom sinners from his judgement.
IMPORTANT SCIENTIFIC FACTS
AND THE BIBLE AGREE TOGETHER
God deliberately made the
anaerobic bacteria and their very complex chemical process that inescapably
turns grape juice to wine! This cannot
be an accident. Pasteurization thwarts
and stops the fermentation process.
Our CONSCIOUSNESS – what a wondrous miracle of God’s special creation –
obviously not a chemical accident! The Bible’s right, we are living souls - body, soul, spirit. Our spirit
scans our mind and communicates to our soul of things we need to know. Read in
the New Testament -- (1Cor2: 11). We say an idea “pops” into our head; but,
really, our human spirit scans our mind and informs us – God’s special
creation!
New research tools always
reveal an astonishingly more complex world than previously thought. The growing
realization of mind-boggling complexity in the natural world proves the theory
of evolution wrong! Our own computer
information systems are like God’s genetic system, only his is much more
sophisticated. Coded systems are always painstakingly made, never accidents. Low estimate for animal species on earth is
10 million, high is 100 million. These species all have codes in the millions
or billions of letters, (base pairs).
Marvelous evidence confirms
the Biblical truth of Noah’s Flood.
Massive coal beds are found world wide where enormous quantities of
vegetation were rapidly amassed and buried before rotting. Gas, oil, chalk, limestone, sedimentary
rocks, etc., are best explained by Noah’s Flood. Sedimentary rocks are rock particles cemented together into
rock. This cementing does not happen
today; it was unique to Noah’s Flood.
Dead animals rot or get eaten by scavengers. So, billions of fossils are unique to Noah’s Flood; fossilization
is a rare, “chemical replacement” process.
The Biblical account in Genesis 6-8 is true world history; not a folk
story!
Consider the Biblical
principle of First Mention -- WINE – Noah the grape farmer. Yes, he over did it, but is never faulted
for this. Noah was on board the Ark a
full year. It was no Carnival
Cruise! He escaped God’s terrible
judgment! The flood was God’s warning
shot! He put us earthlings on
NOTICE! First mention of wine’s joyful
use is occasioned by Noah’s joy in deliverance. Saint Peter (1Peter 3) likens Noah’s Ark to Christ’s eternal
deliverance for believers. Wine is
inseparable from the joyous occasion of God’s deliverance.
An Internet search for “red
wine, health” will find hundreds of articles - the overwhelming majority
pointing to a vast array of great health benefits, from daily use of several
glasses of red wine. In the battle for the
people’s minds let us proclaim that wine’s benefits can only be
deliberate. God publicly commemorates
Christ’s Blood!
It must be stated, the Bible
warns us to avoid overdoing alcoholic beverages. See Proverbs 20, 23 and other passages. However, God has NOT
put a stumbling block in our way.
Experts do not tell us straight.
An
interesting article appeared on the Department of Veterans Affairs web site
(https://myhealth/mhv-portal-web/anonymous.portal?_nfpb=true&_nfto=false&_pageLabel=spotlightArchive&contentPage=spotlight/December%202007/spotlight_spiritual-therapy.html
). In Addiction and Spiritual Therapy,
Chief Chaplain Michael Pollitt, D.Min, BCC, CAC, makes it clear that the
spiritual dimension is the great, neglected area in treatment of drug and
alcohol problems. It is the empty,
unfulfilled, purposeless, lives that tempt people to fill that void with drugs
or alcohol. Only intimate relations
with God can provide the true, meaningful, and satisfying fulfillment.
But much of Christianity is
so dumbed-down, with pat answers, and only superficial education and knowledge.
If we combine testimony and
physical evidences like on jury duty, as has been sighted above, then
Christianity becomes extremely lively and absorbing – It will become “the
truth” instead of just “religion.” One
finds the “God who is real,” and he will overpower our idols with a life of
deep meaning, challenge, and true happiness.
Sadly, many churches have
abandoned the proper use of wine at Communion and use grape juice instead. But some churches, like Christ Reformed
Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA, are now going back to wine! (Christ
Reformed Church)
Pasteurization, the
Temperance movement and Darwinism combined to form the perfect storm! In the late 1800s Pasteurization,
introduced, made possible the stopping of the natural and automatic
fermentation of grape juice. Before the passage of modern liquor
laws, cheap alcohol was a real
problem, but now, appropriate laws and restrictions exist which handle most
problems. Prohibition was tried in the
United States, with bad results. As
noted above, the rise of our modern computer information systems in obvious
juxtaposition, or side by side comparison to natures genetic information
systems shows every candid mind that ours is a specially created world. But,
Darwin and Evolution have run amok for some 150 years and have deceived many
into thinking the Bible is unreliable. Plainly considered, the Bible shows
Jesus Christ ordained bread and wine for communion, just as Melchizedek brought
bread and wine to Abraham. But,
Darwinism has lulled many folks into thinking the Bible cannot be taken as
plain truth, and that we may substitute grape juice. Not so. God is deliberate
in his ordination of bread and wine as his created, historically ordained and
developed and chosen, emblems of communion at the Lord’s Table.
Drink no longer water, but
use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities. ~ Saint Paul to Timothy,
1Ti 5:23.
Wine makes daily living
easier, less hurried, with fewer tensions and more tolerance. ~ Benjamin Franklin
I think it is a great error
to consider a heavy tax on wines as a tax on luxury. On the contrary, it
is a tax on the health of our citizens.
Good wine is a necessity of life for me. ~ Thomas Jefferson
Wine is the most healthful
and hygienic of beverages. ~ Louis
Pasteur
