Millennia
ago, thirteen crystal skulls were entrusted to the priestesses of
Atlantis. Each skull bears a wealth of
information and amplifies the power already residing within each of the
priestesses. The powers are varied, and
include healing, telepathy, second sight, telekinesis and many other things a
normal human could not do. The skulls
maintain the Eden-like Atlantis so long as all of the priestesses use the
combined powers for the good of those within their realm. When the power of the skulls is used for the
wrong purposes, it can result in absolute destruction. The High Priestess has felt the power of the
skulls waning and being diverted from their true purpose. All around her are signs of decay and her
psychic powers grant her the ability to see the ultimate destruction of her
home. Sadly, she realizes that even if
she can place the skulls back in the hands of those who will use them for good,
it is too late to save her own people.
Burdened with this knowledge, the High Priestess gathers all the skulls
together under the guise of seeking to enhance their power. In secret, and with the combined power of
all the skulls, the High Priestess forges duplicate skulls for those whom she
no longer trusts. Days later in a
ceremony with her priestesses, she returns the fake skulls and urges her
priestesses to flee Atlantis in order to protect the skulls. She advises her priestesses that in time,
someone will seek them out and once again reunite the skulls for the power of
good. Later that night, she entrusts
her secrets and the three real skulls to novitiates who have served her faithfully. She tells them her concerns and her wishes
that they or their descendants unite all of the skulls in the future. Sworn to secrecy, the three chosen women
leave Atlantis with their burden.
Four women are brought together by unusual circumstances. These independent women all share common
interests and demands. But they soon
discover that they share more than that, namely a legacy given to them by an
ancient and nearly extinct race from which they are descended. It is up to them to find the other missing
skulls before they can be used for evil and lead to the annihilation of the
world.
In book five, Deanna, the psychic, identifies other women who
can help head off the coming apocalypse.
The four skull sisters set off in pairs and during the search, will meet
women with powers as extraordinary as their own: Teresa, a museum curator whose touch can discern the true history
of objects and the real feelings of the people whom she touches; and finally,
Luciana, a woman who can speak to the dead and aids the other women in
communicating with the ancient priestesses of Atlantis. The six skull sisters come together in the
final book to finally vanquish the evil Reva who has killed so many and caused
so much tragedy.
Book 1: Sara by Caridad Pineiro
Sara
Mendoza's life took a turn for the weird at the age of five when her mother
walked out the door with a strange glowing skull in her hand. Her last words to Sara were: "Be safe, Sarita. I'll be home soon." Only her mother had never returned.
Sara
abhors safe. As a Hollywood stunt woman,
she's had some close calls, but has never been seriously injured. Some say Sara is blessed, which she is. Unbeknownst to Sara, she has telekinetic
abilities which have helped her unwittingly avoid many accidents, including a
close call on the set of the movie on which she is currently working. Those close calls have killed the romance
between her and her partner, Matt Summers, who can't stand watching the risks
Sara takes. Matt's greatest wish is for
Sara to be safe.
When
LAPD Detective Alicia Alvarez comes to tell Sara that her mother has been found
dead with an acrylic skull nearby, Sara is too distraught to heed the LAPD
Detective's warning that Sara may also be in danger. Sara refuses to consider or to discuss the skull, an artifact
Sara only vaguely remembers from her childhood. As far as Sara is concerned, the skull has solely brought grief
into her life and she wants to know nothing about it.
Despite
the news that Alicia brings, Sara feels a connection to the woman and over the
months that pass, the two become friends.
During this time, Alicia continues to investigate the murder of Sara's
mom, but hits dead ends everywhere she goes. Eventually, Sara and Alicia will
discover that they both possess crystals skulls. After bringing them together, they will realize the power that
the skulls can provide, but also place themselves in danger from a cult seeking
to unite the skulls for their own purposes.
In the end, Sara’s greatest challenge will be deciding whether to give up her life or let the skull fall into the hands of those who would use it for evil.
From natural disasters to terrorist attacks, Angelica Gallegos is
the woman to call when there’s trauma and danger. A doctor with a reputation
for fearlessness, she also has a high rescue success record, and the reason
behind it is her deepest secret, a secret that is threatened when she’s
assigned a bodyguard, security specialist Rick Fernandez, after several
mysterious attacks. Who would want to kill a doctor? The question haunts them
as she and her team responds to increasingly violent weather incidents, and her
stalker gets closer and closer.
Book 3: Deanna by Caridad Pineiro
Deanna Rivera's
life hasn't been normal since thirteen, when Deanna discovered that her
"weird feelings" were actually psychic visions and Deanna's mother
began to gradually lose her mind.
Deanna fears that her mother's ever increasing disconnect with reality
will also happen to her if she experiments with her psychic abilities. Because of that, she submerges herself in
the safety of academia, excelling in high school and college, and eventually
obtaining her masters in anthropology.
By her side are
her father, a professor at the prestigious college where Deanna is completing
her doctorate in linguistic anthropology, and her grandmother, a fascinating
woman who while supportive, believes that Deanna is wasting her talents by not
exploring her psychic abilities.
Deanna's mom, Victoria,
is currently institutionalized, unable to separate reality from the dreams she
has of skulls and a mythical realm that she believes created the skulls. Deanna visits her mother regularly, but it
pains her to see her once brilliant mother reduced to such a level. Deanna doesn’t believe in the crystal skulls
until she is accused of murder and she must uncover the mystery behind the
skulls in order to free herself and save the life of the sheriff assigned to track
her down.

marine biology. With no desire to be a treasure seeker, Elena reports the
historically important find to her university, which immediately sends out a
team of archeologists to work the site.
Elena’s not looking forward to sharing space with
another team, but hoping her funding will be fattened up by the find, she
agrees. Word gets out of their discovery and soon they’re plagued with
sightseers and thieves, intent on finding the supposed treasure.
Investigations into the discovery are further
complicated when Elena starts to experience visions and mayhem ensues at the
site thanks to the discovery of a crystal skull.
